Phenomenal steak under $30 for dinner! I wanted authentic Texas food without having to take out a serving mortgage and was thrilled to find Riscky’s. The Wednesday night we went, there was plenty of seating and all you can eat beef ribs for $19.99! They were the biggest ribs I had ever seen, and I had to chuckle when the waitress apologized for the “small” ribs because they were at the end of a set that were cooked. My only regret was that I couldn’t make room for more. Great place; great history; great food; and great service!

Riskey’s Bar-B-Q in Fort Worth is a charming, cozy spot with a classic Texas feel. The walls lined with deer mounts give the restaurant an authentic local character, and the red-and-white checkered tablecloths make the space feel warm and inviting from the moment you sit down.

Our server was wonderful, born and raised locally, friendly, and very helpful, which made the experience feel personal and welcoming.

The barbecue was excellent. We came on our first night in Fort Worth, and although the atmosphere was quiet since we were likely the last customers of the evening, the food quality was truly impressive. The beef brisket was tender, full of flavor, and perfectly smoked, and their special house sauce added the perfect finish.

Riskey’s delivers great barbecue, warm service, and an authentic Texas atmosphere. Highly recommended!

Brisket and ribs were amazing, and the deserts were also great! Nice atmosphere inside as well! It’s one of those authentic Texas bbq places in one of the best parts of town, prices are a bit higher than average but the quality of food you get is totally worth it!

I came here with plenty of time and between lunch and dinner off peak. Ordered the brisket with slaw, baked potatoe, and green beans. Slaw and green beans were adequate. The brisket has a unique sweetness to the rub which is delicious and the baked potatoe was large with crispy skin. The interior is a bit dated and lack luster providing more of a bar vibe but tracks with the simple needs of a BBQ spot. The weather was great so, I sat outside, which I recommend this time of year. This a good restaurant I’d return to for the brisket however, expect tables to be sticky and the sides to be so-so.

Anytime we are going to eat out, no matter where we are, we always try to find a local spot to enjoy. This trip was no different. There were so many places to choose from but we decided on a little place just off Sundance Square, Riscky’s.

We were quickly greeted and they immediately worked to get a table together for our big group.
We only got a few pictures of food due to our hunger level and the size of our group. Aimee and the boys got the jalapeño-cheese sausage plate and that sausage was piled high. A couple people had hamburgers and another made a meal out of their Mac & cheese. Mike and few others had the all you can eat beef ribs. All the food was wonderful.

Some of you know that I (Mike) stick to a strict carnivore lifestyle so finding a place that has all you can eat ribs that doesn’t use a sugar rub is like a dream come true. On top of that it was only $19.99 for the all you can eat beef ribs. I definitely got my moneys worth and they were very good.

If you find yourself in Fort Worth make sure you check out Riscky’s. This is another local business to add to your list of places to support.

It wasn’t as good as I thought it would be. The sauce lacked strong flavor. The Mac and cheese was mediocre; it had a lot of liquid in the bowl. The bread pudding was good. Frank was a good waiter.

I love bbq! I travel regularly and eat it all over the US. Sadly, Risky’s is simply not worth your money—even as the bbq is inexpensive. Don’t be fooled, go elsewhere.

Of note, the atmosphere and location of Risky’s is perfect—meaning this restaurant has the foundation to be excellent, something many restaurants can’t fix with mere effort. Thus, I’m hopeful the restaurant takes this review and others and becomes successful.

Food: I ordered the unlimited ribs. Truly, they were terrible. Over 3 separate deliveries, only a single rib had more than a mouthful of meat on the bone. And every rib was overcooked and tough. I’m not sure where they purchased this meat but it was subpar quality, presentation, and preparation.

Service was inattentive—however friendly. This may be because I ordered ribs and service means more expense, however it was disheartening as it took 10 minutes each attempt to get 2 more ribs.

Overall, there are numerous good restaurants in FTW that are better and many bbq joints just outside the city that are fantastic and a much better value. I’d consider visiting elsewhere.

My mom and I had a great experience. We are visiting from out of townr and decided to try this restaurant. Our server Nelly was fantastic. She had great recommendations, we went with the 3 meat combo and a riscky Rita it was delicious. She was very attentive and had great recommendations to do in the area. I highly recommend Ricky’s and our server Nelly if you want a great experience.

Pretty standard Texas BBQ restaurant in my opinion. Plenty of room to sit and spread out. I debated the all you can eat beef ribs, it looked like a great deal, but I got some brisket and ribs on a platter instead. The ribs, excellent, tender and well flavored. Brisket, eh, pretty standard. Sides were fresh and yummy. Beer came in an icy chalice!
