Stop by here for fish and chips on Friday lunch time. Lots of locals visiting. Was quite busy but the orders were coming out pretty quickly. I ordered fisherman’s basket and everything was fresh and cooked perfectly. The hot chips serving was huge and I couldn’t finish it all. They had lots of fresh fishes on display and all looked fresh. Not a bad fish and chips shop.

The display clearly said “Balmain Bugs – $2.75 per half.” I selected six halves and was charged $30. When I questioned it, I was told they were “freshwater ones” and more expensive, and that the correct price tag hadn’t been put up.
If the product is different and priced differently, it must be clearly labelled. Charging more than the displayed price without signage is misleading.
After getting home, only one half was noticeably larger than the others. As a regular customer, this feels very disappointing and damages trust.

Food here is amazing and fresh. I got a hamburger and chips deal, burger was massive with fresh ingredients and pattie was delicious. My partner got the fish, calamari and chips and he enjoyed it a lot. Best garlic aioli I’ve tasted in a while! Great service, and very chill vibes. Would 100% recommend and definitely will be coming again whenever I’m in Gold Coast!

Today for lunch, I treated myself to a delightful grilled fish burger that really lifted my spirits! I also brought home some oyster kilpatricks, which were decent, though they had quite a bit of BBQ sauce—maybe a little too much for my taste. The MEGA BURGER Omfg. Get this. It is incredible. Went an hour before close and the staff were a bit sweary and a bit lewd. Maybe they didn’t see us sitting outside eating, but still. Overall…can’t miss this place for the feed

Great stop by for quality seafood. I stopped by for a bottle of wine next door and pleasantly surprised to see this place. Kilpatrick oysters and calamari, refreshing salads. Took them to our accommodation to enjoy. So so very nice and tasty. The service was excellent here. Great communication. Well done Rio Vista!!!

Excellent friendly service. Delicious flathead and chips. Perfect pineapple fritter. Fair pricing. Portion size right for just the two of us. This was the best takeaway food we had during our 5 nights at Broadbeach. Easy 6 min drive from our apartment.

Our preferred Fish and chip store has closed due to redevelopment. We tried Rio Vista Seafoods after having favourable memories here in the past. Honestly, we were so disappointed. The staff were friendly and service was quick so there’s your pros but the food and prices are not good enough.
The fish chips and calamari were cooked well but only 4 pieces of calamari for $20? Worse still was that we paid $22.50 for a small piece of Snapper (I’m talking 150 grams at best and just for the fish itself, no chips for that). The snapper was moisture sapping dry. Waste of money and poor experience, we wont be back.
