Not very busy here on this day. The bartender was our server. He did an outstanding job. Food was alright. It definitely was not bad, but it is not my type of flavors here, but the closest to what I am looking for on the east side of town. Restaurant was clean. Overall a good experience just not my type of flavoring for Mexican food. Beans and Rice were good, green chilie sauce ove burrito was sour. Taco meat was greasy and lacked flavor. I really liked the deep fried ice cream, it was different from the ones I have had before, see pictures of it, but it was yummy

We were there with 20 people for a 75th birthday. The staff was excellent. Great job.

We stopped by Rio Rico on a busy Friday night and still got seated quickly, which was a great start. The service was outstanding our waiter, part of the family that owns the place, was kind and accomodating, even making a custom breakfast burrito for my daughter at dinner time. With tasty food, free chips and salsa and a welcoming vibe. This spot is definitely one we’ll be coming back to.

First time here, just saw it on Google Maps. Several boxes checked immediately: smelled good when we entered, chips were warm and crisp, salsa was delicious. We liked our very gregarious and well-informed server. Large menu, many choices. We ordered carne asada steak and chicken mole enchiladas. I’m on a personal mission to try the mole wherever I can find it, and this was OUTSTANDING! Carne asada was also good. Music was nice, didn’t have to shout over it, ambiance was pleasing. We’ll be back in a hot minute. 4 stars because we have to come back and try more items. Try it!

I was skeptical because the atmosphere wasn’t great. But the food, some of the best I’ve ever had (chicken enchiladas with green sauce and a white boy taco. The chips and salsa is amazing, too!). My server was excellent, also. I think his name is Marco? He recommended the House margarita, which was one of the best I’ve had. And it definitely didn’t hurt that they had Dos XX Ambar! I’ll definitely be a repeat customer.

MEXICAN FEAST DELIGHT!
I recently visited this amazing Mexican restaurant with my friend and had an absolutely incredible dining experience!

Mouthwatering Main Dishes
The pollo chipotle dish was INCREDIBLE! The chicken was perfectly cooked, tender and juicy, with just the right amount of that smoky chipotle flavor that gives you a little kick without being overwhelming. Every bite was bursting with authentic Mexican flavors!

Friend’s Dish Was Amazing Too
My friend ordered the beef enchiladas and they looked so good I had to try a bite! The enchiladas were stuffed with seasoned beef, smothered in a rich sauce, and topped with melted cheese. They were absolutely delicious and my friend couldn’t stop raving about them.

‍ Exceptional Service ‍
The staff here deserve special recognition! Everyone was incredibly friendly from the moment we walked in. Our server was attentive without being intrusive, made great recommendations, and checked on us just the right amount of times. You can tell they really care about providing a great dining experience.

Perfect Atmosphere
The restaurant had such a warm, inviting ambiance with beautiful decorations and comfortable seating. The background music added to the authentic feel without being too loud for conversation. It was the perfect setting for catching up with my friend over amazing food.

❤️ Can’t Wait to Return! ❤️
Overall, this place exceeded all my expectations! The combination of SUPER YUMMY food, friendly service, and great atmosphere made for an unforgettable dining experience. I’m already planning my next visit to try more dishes from their menu. If you’re craving authentic Mexican cuisine, this is definitely the place to go!

The good; Horchata, but would like more ice. Salsa, was seasoned, we could taste pepper, cumin and Mexican oregano. Jamaica was very good.

The bad; Mole chicken, was a puddle of shredded chicken under mole sauce, no ‘chicken breast’ as described. Green chili pork, kept the fat and silver on the loin. Take that junk off, it is gross. Rice and beans had zero flavor.

And the service, zero attention after we got our food, no refills, no concern at all that we didn’t like the food. Had to wave the waiter down to get our check to pay and leave.

Won’t be back, lots of better places to eat at and spend our money.

Rio Rico Mexican Grill moved into the old Serrano’s Mexican Restaurant space at the NE corner of Guadalupe and Val Vista in Gilbert. Walking in the door, I liked how they freshened up the dining room. It seemed a little brighter and it felt clean and tidy. It wasn’t very busy as we were seated at our table at noon on a Saturday. By the time we left, at about 1:30, there were more seated guests than when we arrived but there was still ample seating.
Our server was a friendly young lady. She brought us our chips, salsa and ice teas right away. My friend ordered the combination fajitas and I ordered a ground beef hard shelled taco and chicken enchilada with green sauce combination plate, which was not listed on the menu but our server happily accommodated my request. The food came out quickly and everything was hot. The fajita portion was huge! I’d like to say I was amazed by the food but I really wasn’t. It was good, and I’d be happy to eat there if I lived in the immediate area, but it’s not a place I would drive too far out of my way to visit again.

Great Mexican restaurant! Our first visit and was very impressed. Food was outstanding and staff is friendly and attentive. One of the few places we’ve found with Mole, so huge plus for me! Cool little robot brings out food. Very clean and welcoming environment. Nice little bar area with tvs. Large dining area.
