We started with the dip trio – elote, guacamole, and queso, and they were very good.
I had the salmon with elote and my wife had the chicken fajitas. Everything tasted great.

Excellent!!!! Our experience was soooo on point from we entered until the checque! Everything was amazing!!! We have found our new date night spot! Our server Avis catered to our every need! The food, even the dip was seasoned to perfection…which is sometimes unheard of at a Mexican spot! Whew!

This was our first visit and actually our first time trying anything in this location. The service was very good. The atmosphere was amazing. Lots of windows and great lighting. We really enjoyed that. The food was good but there wasn’t really anything we got that stood out. We felt we would go back for the atmosphere, but would like to see some things on the menu that really stand out and make it worth coming back for. Parking is so easy!

The chips were well seasoned and I really like the salsa. I got the chicken enchiladas which were tasty but a little too spicy for me. I like that they had black beans and the rice was good. The price point was very good. My husband got the Burria beef taco and the Guajillo chicken taco. He liked both, the chicken more. He liked that the tacos weren’t soggy and didn’t fall apart. He said the flavors were good. The prickly pear margarita was tasty.
We got there around 5:30 on a Sunday and there was a 20 min wait for an inside table. We were able to get a seat at the bar. The service at the bar was good

My wife and I sat at the bar which was convenient for us considering the 30 minute wait time for a table. This was our first time trying Rio Lobo Cantina. Some of our more pleasant experiences at Mexican restaurants have been at establishments when we have traveled outside of the Memphis area. Rio Lobo Cantina was a good experience. The food was delivered within 10-15 of placing the order, the bartender was prompt to serve us our drinks, and the vibe of the restaurant was pleasant considering the fact that the place was packed. From reading other reviews, I was unsure of how everything would be. I’m glad I was able to enjoy my night with my wife and enjoy a good meal. We will definitely return again to try other options on the menu. Oh by the way, the chicken flautas is very good as well as the queso with seasoned chips.

We came in as a group of 30 people and Rio Lobo ended up being the PERFECT place! They found a way for us all to sit together, and the staff was super attentive and helpful (even splitting up all the checks, which I know can be complicated). Our server, Kyle, was really great. On top of that, the food was really REALLY good. The guacamole was better than any I have had in a long time. The Bowls were beautiful and so tasty, as was the Carnitas.

Finally tried this place an a Saturday night. First I would say if there is a wait, leave and go somewhere else, its not worth waiting for. The service was Very slow. The food was ok, but not a game changer. I had (2) taco plate with , you guessed it Rice and Beans . They were small and just ok. The margarita was a big disappointment and to make it worse it was way overpriced. The place is nice but would not be my go to for Mexican cuisine .

It seems we had a different experience than others. We were really excited to try this place and drove over 30 minutes to get here. I ordered the spicy margarita. I regularly order spicy drinks at other restaurants and have a high spice tolerance. This drink was not consumable. The spice level was dangerous. We informed our server and she took away the full drink and brought me a regular margarita. At the end of our meal, she charged us for both drinks, which I felt was wrong, given that I did not drink it and it was full when she took it away. The food was a let down as well. We will not be going back and will tell others not to come here because of our experience.

Food was great. Our server was nice & as quick as he could be… the bartenders took FOREVER. I waited in line for a drink then my table was ready. It took 45 min for my drink I should’ve just ordered it at the bar the drink was very bland the second drink I ordered was the prickly pear it was way better but still took 45 minutes and we were ready to leave when it came.
