The server was polite but inattentive. Once the bill was given to us, we were ignored until I called the server over to ask for a box for leftovers. The food was really good. It was tender and flavorful with a wonderful presentation on the plates.

UPDATE- Just tried the chicken chimichanga and Wow. Mega Tasty. highly recommend.
.
Its Taco Tuesday .
We stopped off at Rio Grande Authentic Mexican Cuisine & picked us up 6 crunch & 6 soft beef tacos.
We both agree the soft are better. Had to teach dad how to eat a crunchy over a soft taco as a plate.
I think next Tuesday we will try half beef half chicken soft tacos.
The hot salsa was tasty but a little on the watery side for my liking. I’d prefer a hot Chunky Pico de gallo.
Will have to go back and try some other dishes to see how they compare to my Home in Mexico

This was delivered through the website on their website “ from the restaurant.” Because when I tried to do it through door dash, It said it was unavailable. It took 55 minutes to receive the food.
I had one meal wrong. When I contacted the restaurant, the man, kept acting as if he couldn’t speak English. He then passed to another man, that pretended not to speak English, Blame the driver (who does not make the food). It took me 20 min of arguing on the phone, to get them to replace the one meal.
I have ordered from them before never had a problem. They were rude. Saying the only speaking English person they had was Pablo and he was off. Really??? There was not one waitress, busboy,,,, anyone to keep a good rating.
They said it would be 10 min for the driver to return, it has now it took 25 min and they sent someone on a bike. Don’t know why they did that, felt sorry for the guy.
I will not ever go into or order from this restaurant again.

ZERO STARS!!!! Spent $120 and ALL of our food was cold. Called and was told it wasn’t their problem after admitting it was because they failed to read the order correctly and cooked it all 3 hours before time. Told us THEY DIDNT HAVE THE MONEY to give us a refund, told we needed to call door dash when order was placed directly on their website which is pictured and you can’t contact anyone else. Repeatedly asked to speak to owner and they flat out refused and said they had no reason to talk to us. SERVED COLD SHRIMP that had been sitting for more than 2 hours which is a HEALTH CODE VIOLATION. Beyond incredibly rude and worst service I’ve ever received from a restaurant. Zero stars isn’t even low enough, -5 stars. I can’t believe this place is even in business. Don’t bother with the reply of call us to fix this as yall already said you didn’t even have the money I just spent to purchase food.

Rio Grande is a legend in the area. Authentic, freshly cooked southwestern cuisine in a beautiful, uniquely artistic space that’s comfortable. Food options and portions for every age, and abundant accommodations for larger groups.

I am a HUGE fan of Mexican food. I lived in the San Diego area for many years. Mexican food was a part of daily life. Either made at home or in the plethora of restaurants that San Diego offered. So, now I live in Springfield and up until recently, it’s been a struggle to find good Mexican food, that scratches that itch. Rio Grande, in Lincoln, will now be added to my short list of GREAT Mexican food restaurants. Our waiter, Steve was fantastic. I asked for his recommendations. Which he was happy to do. Our sodas were served in pitchers. How fantastic is that. The chicken Fajitas was tender, juicy and very flavorful. Back to Steve our waiter. He was hysterical. I tipped him $10.00 for the show alone.

I had seafood enchiladas. They were very tasty. Not the best I’ve had but still quite good. The service was amazing.

First time we’ve tried this restaurant and we’ll definitely go back! There’s another Mexican restaurant in town and I’d recommend Rio Grande over the other in a NY minute! I had the carnitas. They were good. Slightly dry but overall satisfied. Hubby got the chicken fajitas and the FIL got the steak fajitas… MIL tried their beef chimichanga and she loved it! The guac didn’t taste home made but it was decent. I’d give them a 3.5 but couldn’t. They were better than a 3 – we’ll definitely be back again!

Always a good time. They were accommodating to alterations to meals and replacing soda when the carbonation/syrup ratio was off.
