This is probably the nicest Mexican restaurants in Madras! I haven’t been in a while, but when I’ve been before, the staff has always been very welcoming. The food is also authentic. There are a couple other okay Mexican restaurants in Madras, but in my opinion, this place has the best quality. If you’re in Madras, and looking for a nice place to eat, I’d definitely give this place a try!

Say yes to the guacamole!! It’s made fresh table side and is SO good! The patio seating was comfortable (we had our dog along). We tried the house enchiladas and the watermelon margarita. Definitely would go back if we pass through again.

This place is great!
The gentleman working gets a 5-star for his work ethic and cooking. He was not only taking care of my group and other patrons, but also had his adolescent daughter bugging him. It was sweet and reinforced the family business atmosphere.
The main dishes were excellent. Sauce was tasty and meat was cooked well. You could tell and see the ingredients were fresh. Ask for the guac! He made it right in front of us which was a real treat.
My only feedback would be more seasoning. Other than, it was everything it needed to be. Thanks Rio!

Enjoyed an amazing Rio Fajitas, sizzling and smothered in quite possibly the best sautéed onions I’ve ever encountered! The steaming presentation was wonderful! The service was excellent, attending to my every need. Atmosphere was quiet and inviting. It was simply OMG!!! I shall return!

We almost left because it was taking so long for initial contact with the waitress. Then again after we ordered it took an abnormally long time for the food to come out, but I’m glad we stayed because the food was really good.
I’m on a limited diet so I always get meat and beans. They were on the salty side vs flavor.
My husband’s was amazing. The sauce on top was really flavorful and not spicy. A side of rice and beans came with it.
The chips were also really good and just enough salt.
Cute place if you eat outside, but you are right next to the road.

Very good food. Interesting spin on classic dishes. The guacamole was made table-side and it was different but amazing. I loved that they had several vegetarian options that were specific, not just minus meat. Table service was lacking a bit, prices were a bit high, and some things were excessively spicy, but overall a good experience.

I had a delicious Mexican dinner last Friday at Rio Restaurant – Madras. I had been there last year and had the flautas to go.
This time I treated myself to a dine in experience.
I ordered FOXI’S CALLOY CAMARON Lemon marinated tiger prawns & scallops served over our 7 pepper mole with sauteed mushrooms, spinach & seared scallops over a fire roasted corn & chipotle cream sauce, with rice & beans for $29.00. I also ordered a regular sized MADRAS O’King MARGARITA Reposado tequila, orange liqueur, pineapple juice, cranberry juice & fresh lime juice.
I ordered my dinner without the corn as I am allergic. When it was served it was covered in sesame seeds. That wasn’t listed on the menu and it never crossed my mind that sesame would be added to a Mexican dish.
When I explained the situation a new plate was produced without sesame.
It was absolutely delicious. I ate everything! I was so full and relaxed and enjoyed the environment as well. It wasn’t busy as I went at 4pm before dinner got into full swing. I did get to watch Table Side Guacamole being prepared next to me.
If you are ever traveling through Madras, I highly recommend you stop and enjoy a quality authentic Mexican meal.
Thank you to the staff.

Everything I’ve ever had here has been delicious. I just had fish tacos and they were outstanding. As others have mentioned, the fresh guacamole is amazing. You can’t go wrong at Rio! I can’t recommend it enough.

Rio is a wonderful little restaurant. We sat at their outdoor patio and enjoyed fantastic food, excellent service and enjoyed watching the sunset. We ordered the guacamole appetizer and were amazed to learn that they make right at your table. They have all the fresh ingredients ready to add to some great looking avocados. The presentation was awesome and the guac tasted as good as it looked! Their chips are to die for! They are fresh, crispy and are made for dipping into their homemade salsa. After all the chips, salsa and guacamole I thought I’d have a hard time eating my meal. When my fish tacos were brought out, once again I was impressed with the presentation. The breaded fish was cooked to perfection and the sauce and garnish really complemented the flavor. The rice and beans are served on a separate plate, which I appreciated, so none of them interfered with the tacos. They were equally as tasty as the rest of the food. If you are in the mood for some fantastic Mexican food then I suggest you stop at Rio and enjoy some. Oh, we also met the owner who made time to come out and check on each table to make sure everyone was happy and enjoying themselves. This is a great restaurant and we will definitely be back again and again.

It was Rio-lly good! Guac was a bit salty but the chips were amazing and warm. Had the enchiladas en molada. The beef was incredible and the mole was one of the best I’ve ever had.
