Rincon Taqueria in Norwalk, CT is one of those places you almost don’t want to talk about because it feels like a secret. The food, vibe, and service are all on point.

The staff is always friendly, welcoming, and really informative. They’re happy to walk you through the menu and make recommendations based on what you like. It’s also surprisingly vegetarian- and vegan-friendly, they offer vegan meats so you can swap them into a lot of the classic dishes, which is rare for a taqueria.

The food is outstanding. Even the free chips and salsa they start you with are memorable: the chips are fresh and super crunchy, and the salsa has real depth of flavor, not just heat. The entrées are some of the best value around, the burritos are massive (one could easily feed two or three people), and for takeout, the quesadillas literally come in a pizza box, which tells you everything you need to know about portion size. Their appetizers, queso, and house-made hot sauce are all excellent and full of flavor, not just spice.

Most times I’ve been, the service has been fast, even when they’re busy. The interior is clean, colorful, and decorated with authentic touches, so it feels fun and relaxed whether you’re dining in or just grabbing takeout.

If you’re searching for great Mexican food in Norwalk, big portions, vegetarian/vegan options, and friendly service, Rincon Taqueria is easily one of the best spots around. Highly recommend.

Food is fresh and made to order if the Spanish ppl aren’t listening to loud music in the kitchen I don’t want it rice and beans were slightly over salted but the atmosphere and Ora of the restaurant was amazing, Matt the server was a great host would come again if I had 100$ to spend the burritos are huge ! One is enough to share with at least 2-3 ppl and chips and salsa are amazing!!! Wish they had more deals for happy hour !

Stopped in hoping to be blown away. Not quite. My friend and I ordered the guac to start, nothing special. I had a really good spicy margherita, I enjoyed it very much. We then had 1 chicken and 1 cheese empanada. They were both tasty. My friend ordered the braised beef quesadilla which was both our favorite dish. Then we had their enormous burrito. I was hoping it was as good as it looked but it was the most disappointing dish. We chose the chicken burrito and I immediately wished I had chosen the braised beef. The chicken was dry, tough and not tasty at all. I mentioned this to the waiter. He wasn’t able to get the owner to care and address the bad chicken.

This was our first visit to Rincon Taqueria, and certainly will not be our last. Started with chips and salsa. Taste great, but only the first round is free. However I doubt a second round will be needed because the portion sizes here are HUGE. The fish tacos were the most regular sized item we got. Absolutely great tacos. Tamales were gigantic and packed with meat and flavor. These were my girlfriends favorite. And the pork burrito….man this pork burrito. Easily the biggest burrito I’ve ever seen. Might even be too big, to the point where it’s difficult to eat. Not really a burrito anymore once you need a fork and a knife. We saw the pictures online and thought, “really how big could it be?” Trust me, it’s gigantic. Wouldn’t order the burrito again, but will be returning. The prices are high but it’s a good value with the portions. Also everything had scallions on it which was unexpected from Mexican food

I got takeout from here after reading the reviews. What they don’t tell you is that they overcharge you if you order via phone and then make up excuses when you question it. They charged me $14 for a dip that was supposed to be $8. The burrito comes out to $24 if you add a protein which is crazy if you consider how inexpensive the ingredients are. Well, I thought I’d try anyway since I heard it’s supposed to be good but guess what – it was almost entirely rice, there was no flavor, and the “side” of salsa was a ketchup dipping size container. It covered maybe 3 bites. I was not impressed. You can get much better Mexican food for half the price pretty much anywhere else. I do not recommend.

tables inside, and attending to a few take-out orders, she was busy, but I never felt as if I were waiting. She was on top of things.

The food was good. I had a Cheese Empanada, Shrimp Taco and Fish Taco. The Cheese Empanada was good, the dough light and crispy, the cheese was simple, yet flavorful. It was served with a salsa that I thought was just ok. It was missing some depth of flavors. When the tacos came out, I was a bit worried that as they looked similar and I thought they were going to taste the same, but with just a different protein. To my surprise, they both had distinct flavors. I was also going to ask for salsa as I am accustomed to having Salsa Verde or Roja with my tacos. But again, to my surprise they didn’t any additional salsa. Both tacos were very abundant, but also hard to eat. I was also disappointed that the tortillas didn’t hold up well to the sauces and other ingredients in the tacos as they began to break apart. It’s hard to say which taco I liked better – the flavor of the shrimp was better than the fish, but the other ingredients were more flavorful on the fish taco. I also thought the fried fish lack any fried crispiness.

Overall I had a good experience. I wouldn’t hesitate visiting again, but probably wouldn’t make a special trip either.

Pork Tacos were perfect. Two hot corn tortillas off the grill, high quality shredded pork, great flavor and garnish. Jasmine rice and black beans were delicious and unique. Home made salsas. I’ll be back for tamales and to say hello to Benedios.
Great selection of tequila, at a very reasonable price, Avion for me, thank you!

Delicious chicken al pastor tacos, beautiful and giant tamales, and their salsa for the tortilla chips was some of the best I’ve had recently. The first order of chips is free which is great! The restaurant is very cozy and cute.

Showed up an hour and twenty minutes before closing. Walked in to three employees just sitting at the bar conversing. They said kitchen was closed. As someone who has worked in hospitality. This is extremely unprofessional and a waste of wages. Might as well close early if no service is being offered and employees are just sitting instead of being productive. This is how you lose customers.
