Cool little bbq place! When we arrived we were greeted by the most amazing smelling bbq smoke. The owner Riley, is super friendly and I just love friendly people! We got to talking about Kansas City BBQ and how it’s a little different and Texas doesn’t really offer burnt ends like KC, so Riley surprised us with a to-go of some of his burnt ends, I thought that was THE MOST thoughtful gesture! Our experience here was great. I really like the barbecue sauce and sausage.

Best BBQ around for brisket , me and my woman going to the river and stopped here . Way better then any other place near by . Chris that works there was super awesome and his recommendations was on point , he not being paid enough . I really hope management sees this and does something special for him and his family. The girls up front were beyond helpful and really enjoyed helping us . Bathrooms were spotless everything was clean .

First off, the kindness and customer service by all the staff is absolutely top notch. Being in a welcoming environment matters. Also, the food was excellent. I went during the mid-afternoon, which is a slow period. There was a slight dryness to the brisket and ribs, probably because of the time of day I went (if I had went a couple hours earlier I’m sure it would have been perfect). It was still wonderful and full of flavor. The cole slaw and potato salad were really dang good. I left happy.

There are 7 different BBQ places in this town, and we picked Riley’s. We are so glad that we did. It was absolutely amazing. We had brisket, ribs, and chicken all moist and full of flavor. I wish I could have eaten it all. If you are ever in Lockhart, please stop by and give this unassuming place a try. You will be happy you did!

Hands down best bbque in the area! And all of the sides are homemade, which most places do not have. The folks are so friendly. And it’s so much food- we got two meals out of one! We always stop here on our way to the coast. Don’t miss the banana pudding- is homemade and the best I’ve ever had.

The brisket and ribs were tasty, but I couldn’t eat the sides. They were very bland to me. Not the best BBQ I’ve had by any means, but certainly better than merely “edible”. Not worth driving out to see them, but if you’re passing through I recommend giving them a try.

I really enjoyed the brisket and ribs. The sides were good as well. Coleslaw and macaroni salad were creamy. The BBQ sauce was not overly sweet. Friendly service. A solid BBQ joint!

So I have lived in Lockhart my whole life born and raised here we are bar b que capital of the world and I love all my bar b que places but now I will becoming back to Riley’s pit BBQ form now on the brisket was amazing omg and the Turkey as well sides are awesome and the tea gezzz they got a new customer for life now and I will be back soon amazing people the owner is awesome and the employees love the vibe and atmosphere keep it up
