Rico’s Stake & Grill is excellent. Great food & wonderful service. The Cachapa was unlike anything I have ever had, and makes the trip well worth it. If I had any complaint I would say that the restaurant is a little too expensive. But then again the quality is still very good.

Nice to see a new Venezuelan restaurant be added to what can sometimes feel like limited options in the Cutler Bay area! Rico’s has a large menu including breakfast, lunch, and dinner options that caters nicely to families unable to decide on what they want to eat since they have a little bit of everything on their menu! Went for a dinner date night and was surprised to find it a little empty though this made for a nice intimate date. They also serve wine which was a plus.
We started our meal with two appetizers, the first being their Mini Cachapas $7.99 and the second, their Eby Tempura $11.95: 4 tempura shrimp in a crispy edible rice basket seasoned with honey mustard and pineapple sauce. My boyfriend is Venezuelan and raved about their cachapas, especially the crema they use which stood out to me over other Venezuelan places I’ve gone to. The shrimp appetizer was one of the highlights of the meal. The winning combination of honey mustard and pineapple with the deep fried shrimp was a unique spin on a dish that seems common. Also, the ultra crispy rice basket they served it in was like a massive Asian rice chip, very enjoyable to eat!
For our main entrees we had the Meditteranean Salmon on the Rock $18.95 (dry tomato sauce, capers, and olive oil) and the 12 oz. New York Strip Steak $18.95. Both were served on a sizzling plate which made the presentation memorable, the aromatic fumes as it came from the kitchen to table smelled incredible! My only issue and reason for lack of star is that I ordered my steak at medium-rare (I usually enjoy my steaks on the very rare side) and my Ny Strip was far from it. I think it just overcooked on the hot plate so it was more of a medium then well done by the time I finished eating it. The salmon on the other hand was absolutely perfect at a nice medium (which is what I prefer) and extremely moist/tender. I would go back and order the salmon again since I enjoyed it so much!
Want to come back to try their arepas which I’m confident will be delicious or any of their breakfast options since they seem super affordably priced!

To start off, sticky tables and nobody outside to attend customers. A homeless guy walked up and sat down at one of the tables and drank leftover water and walked off (the table was never wiped down). The service was extremely slow because of the one employee working the front. I waited 20 minutes for a cup of coffee, the only decent thing that was there lol. Then waited an extra 35 minutes for 2 sandwiches, fries, and a small basket of mini tequeños. The sandwich as pictured below was awful. Let me add that it was the wrong sandwich since the waitress never wrote down the order and I guess she forgot what I wanted, again lol. The sandwich fell apart as I pulled it to my mouth and spilled onto my lap because of the low quality bread and ingredients as pictured below. The fries as pictured below, looked just like that upon arrival. Soggy supermarket brand fries. I was still charged for the sandwich and I didn’t even eat it and I was offered a compensatory drink for a $10.38 meal, AGAIN LOL. The other sandwich was awful but I won’t speak on it because I didn’t get a picture but the pork which was inside was old and dry. Anyway, $32(not including tip) for two 6 inch sandwiches, 2 decent portions of fries, and a cup of coffee. This place is a nightmare, please don’t visit.

Menu says “12 oz NY strip”. The steak delivered weighed barely over 6 oz and was overcooked yet somehow still cold on arrival. See photo, does this look like a Medium NY Strip? There aren’t words to describe how disgusting it was, but suffice to say that it was completely inedible. The “Cuban toast” was essentially soggy bread, also served cold. The fries? You guessed it: soggy, cold, inedible. It might be tempting for some to blame Postmates, but delivery was surprisingly quick (12-15 min). I didn’t understand this at first, but now I’m suspecting that these items were kept in a refrigerator and then microwaved (poorly) before sending out. Will never order from this place again. I suggest you don’t either.

Great food. First time trying some of the items they served. The flavor of the yuca and plantain was kinda bland, but the meat was incredible!

This place was an absolute let down and waste of time and money. The service was mediocre at best and the quality of food was unacceptable. My girlfriends burger was missing ingredients and my churrasco was terribly cooked and the meat was leftover meat that was probably discarded until the end of the night. I would not recommend whatsoever to anybody.
