I found this place on the way to the airport and it did not disappoint. I have very strict dietary restrictions and can only eat grilled or boiled seafood. They didn’t have seafood soup, but the gentleman who waited on us who was also the cook said he’d make me the octopus in butter.
It was delicious!
My husband had the carne asada and he said it was all delicious and very flavorful!
We will definitely stop again if we are in the area.

Great food selection. All hand made. Privately owned. Great service. BYOB.

Personally not for me, Uber it for additional fees, was not worth ubering, fried mushrooms were not authentic, but a precooked cafeteria rendition, coleslaw, was carrots & red cabbage only, tastes good, and charros bean was an onion soup with 15 beans in it.

The food was spectacular. We had the Seafood Soup and Fried Tilapia. The Tilapia was cooked to perfection. I thoroughly enjoyed it. The Soup could use a little less vinegar, but overall a good meal for a cold day, when it comes. I will be visiting again for sure!

This is mine and my husband’s 4th time ordering from here and every single time we have ordered something different and each dish is delicious but tonight i ordered the fried Calamari and Fried oysters, truth be told it’s so delicious, hot and fresh…it’s honestly hard to find fresh seafood around Irving but Rico’s sure won’t disappoint and the price is also great. So from now on every time I crave fresh, hot and delicious seafood, Rico’s will be our go to spot!

Love this little restaurant! The best catfish I’ve ever had. Family owned business, too! The chef is the owner himself! A great place to grab some lunch or dinner!

I can’t understand how this place is even in business. It was the most unseasoned tacos I have ever had in my life. You would be better off making your own food at home. On top of the horrible, he got my order wrong twice! Don’t waste your money

Tonight my ‘Baby’ (Thomas) and I went to Rico’s.
I have not been to Rico’s Seafood and Tex-Mex since he took over after Pappy’s. We’ve purchased meals from there though.
Pleasant atmosphere, and the smell of great food lingered in the air and was so inviting.
There was one other customer seated when we arrived.
Hubby ordered the 3 piece catfish, with hush puppies and jalapeño beans.
I ordered the ribeye-medium with fries and coleslaw. Plus, a bottle of Mexican Coke.
Usually when I go to restaurants and order a steak I ask for only garlic butter on my steak. Tonight, being it was the first time I would have Rico’s ribeye I did not ask to have just garlic butter, because I was curious how it would be seasoned.
I am so glad I made that decision. I have no idea what was put on the steak but it was absolutely tasty.

Came here on a whim today, and glad I did! Yummy fried catfish and oysters, and my favorite – delicious key lime pie!
Very friendly folks and great service.
Give this family-owned business a try!

I don’t know how this place has so many high reviews… the food was unseasoned and unappetizing. I called the restaurant to make slight accommodations like adding cheese to my meal which were not added. Had to throw everything in the trash. Would not recommend.
