My husband and I were in Kent for a few days and decided to try Rico’s which was near our hotel. We arrived at peak busy time on a Friday night and the parking lot was full. We expected a long wait, but only one couple was waiting ahead of us. The owner, Rico, quickly seated that couple and asked us if we’d like the dining room, which would be a light wait, or the lounge. We opted for the lounge and were immediately seated in a nice booth. Rico came by a few minutes later and noticed we did not yet have drinks. He offered us drinks on the house. Our waitress was also bartending that evening and got to us as soon as possible. The menu has something for everyone, lots of Italian dishes and steaks. It is also a good value. We ordered a bottle of Chianti, steaks, and an eggplant appetizer. Our steaks were nice cuts and cooked perfectly, medium rare and medium. Our salads, appetizer, and sides were delicious. Rachel did a great job serving us and Rico brought us a lovely drink and joined us. The decor is a step back in time, but very pleasant, the atmosphere warm and friendly, and the whole experience very enjoyable!

First time and last time at this place. All 4 of us ordered sirloin steaks well done, medium well, medium rare, an another one medium well. They all came out wrong and were sent back 4 times still not right. The owner had the nerve to say he was only going to take one steak off the bill. None of us could eat our food the steak was now chard on the outside but the inside was still not cooked to any of our specifications. The only food we got to eat there was my dad’s salad, my mom had some bread so did my girlfriend and I but nothing else we were able to eat. When my father told the owner that he would pay for his steak does he ate part of and his salad but the rest he was not going to pay for except for our drinks the owner then had the nerve to say for us to leave and never come back. My mom said don’t worry we won’t be back this is our first time here and our last. He doesn’t know how to treat customers or how to cook.

I would give this place less than 1 star of I could! We were the only ones in the dining room and it still took about 50 minutes for us to get our food, for my family of 4. They were out of wings, steak, and mini tacos. The pizza looked like it was made on a tortilla and it was over sauced. It fell apart when my son tried to eat it. The meatballs and burgers are frozen not fresh made. The only thing we had that tasted good was the baked potato. Needless to say we will not go back!

I stopped in about 5:30 on a Sunday evening. A grizzled gentleman sat me, and the waitress was quick to wait on me, she was very pleasant, informative and efficient. I ordered the meatball casserole with the salad, and she brought the salad to me within a minute or two, with two slices of fresh hot very good garlic bread. I immediately noticed flies and gnats all around the food and I shooed them away while I ate. It took about 20 minutes for the meatball sub to arrive, in the meantime the next table over had sent back their food for being overcooked. When she brought the casserole it looked delicious still hot and bubbling from under a broiler. Excellent meatballs, excellent sauce, very good pasta, and what seem to be very high-quality cheese. The taste was very good but I was put off by the fact that one hand had to constantly shoo away flies the entire time I attempted to eat, there were 3-4 at my table and on the empty table beyond me at all times. When she came by I asked her for a box to go when I was only about one quarter of the way into my meal. She never asked why I was leaving so abruptly but I have a feeling she knew. I took my bill to the checkout where the grizzled man was standing. He asked how I like my food. I told him it was very good but I was put off by the amount of flies that were all over the restaurant, I said it’s disgusting and I lost my appetite. He agreed, AGREED! that it was horrible and told me as soon as everybody in the dining room was out of there he was going to spray the place down with fly spray. (Watch for dead flies everywhere in the next few days?) He said it’s like that all the time in the summer. I can’t even believe the health department allows this place to continue to serve food to the public. I can see a fly or a gnat getting past a door, but when I looked around, they were all over the place. Filthy, and I will never go back. And yes, I tossed the leftovers…..

The food was so-so, being Friday my husband ordered the fried fish dinner, the fish was fairly good but 4 smallish pieces for the price was ridiculous. I ordered the Italian sausage bake expecting pork sausage because hey, sausage is usually pork and no where on the menu for it say they use chicken sausage, needless to say I was extremely disappointed. The single waitress working was curt and had no personality, didn’t ask if we needed refills on our drinks and after disappearing for over 10 minutes right after our main course came out, she returned smelling like she had chain smoked a whole pack of cigarettes. We won’t go back.

The owner is a great gentleman and always makes you feel welcome. Waitresses are friendly and make the visit enjoyable. We were there for an informal birthday gathering recently, and Rico’s made everyone feel welcome. Plus, very attentive to the needs of all those at the table.

Service was horrible. Was given an attitude when we asked where our food was that was ordered 45 minutes earlier. Couldn’t sit in the restaurant, was made to sit in the bar area. Food came slightly warm; not hot as usual and the waitress seemed more interested in flirting with the bar people than waiting on tables. Just was a big disappointment. Doubt we will go back for a while, if we even go back.

Food was not cooked correctly! French Onion soup was like pure salt. Didn’t have blue cheese, cottage cheese. Chicken tasted like sugar instead of like Marsala. Pork chops were extremely salty. Place was dirty inside. Service was rude…..

My family has come here for years and so have I. This place has gone downhill. Ate here last Saturday and then again tonight. 45 minutes after we order the salads come out and we’re then told the place is out of steaks. We got menus again and and tried to order burgers. Guess what……. No burgers either. I’m done and won’t be back. The only thing this place is good for is to drink.
