I had a Rick’s Special sandwich and a Tamarind drink (for the first time) and the staff at the counter were really helpful explaining about tamarind and horchata which are two things we don’t have in my country.
The Rick’s Special was absolute fire and if this wasn’t the last day on my holiday I definitely would have returned for another sandwich!
My picture doesn’t do it justice but it tasted fantastic and the bread tasted really good quality, and I also watched the cook prepare the whole thing from scratch in front of me from fresh ingredients – probably the most ‘fresh’ meal I had in America during my visit and had a nice amount of salad which was a welcome change! It was only $9.50 USD.
You can take it through the building to the balcony on the other side and sit out there to eat which is really nice too.

This was our first visit to New Orleans and for 2 days of being here we loved it but the service hasn’t been the best and people didn’t seem to friendly like back home but when we came to eat at Rick’s the guys working and making our sandwiches was amazing!!! He was so friendly and welcoming with a great smile on his face!! He read my mind on exactly what I was thinking of ordering and boy was it good!!! I highly recommend this place!! The service was so great I didn’t have any cash for a tip that I went to the ATM just to get cash and come back and tip because he definitely deserve it!!

It’s a food court. That being said, the sandwiches we had were very good, reasonably priced and ready quickly. It is a nice clean food court and there is plenty of seating. I recommend it for a good, hot, reasonably priced sandwich with plenty of indoor seating.

Rick’s Grill is a small hidden gem. Inside Place St Charles on the second floor. The grill master will keep the line moving as he cooks and calls out orders. Check out the menu and know what you want as he will ask for your order even if you are 10th in line.

The sandwiches here are amazing! Rick and Reggie were also friendly and attentive! My wife happened upon this place and loved the food and the genuine attentiveness of Rick and Reggie so much that she had to share it with me. Next time we’re in NOLA, we’ll be back!

Rick’s is one of my favorite Philly spots to go to. Your food is cooked to order right in front of you! I always get the surf and turf which is loaded with flavor and I add jalapenos to add a lil spicy! Overall a nice lil spot located in the capitol one building. Lemonade is good 2! Check out New York cheese steak in Harvey not marrero, they are both my faves! Only thing I don’t like is Rick’s close at 2pm and or not open on the weekends!

Amazing grilled sandwich shop on second floor of Place St Charles. They make right in front of you. Can’t beat the surf and turf here. I want to try other restaurants up here but the surf and turf is so good. I also like the taco salad at the Purple Cactus next door. Both owned and run by Rick. Had to take out because I didnt have enough time for lunch.

The surf and turf sandwich is unbelievable. They make right in front of you. Best sandwich on 2nd floor food court of Place St Charles. You can order ahead of time using Ritual App. I catch the streetcar to get these sandwiches.
