2.11.25 previously gave this place 4 stars but now must go down to 1- I’d give a zero if I could – mainly due to the guy who served us on this second trip. Food isn’t bad as burgers are actually quite tasty but CUSTOMER SERVICE IS APPALLING – see the guy in the video.
Was initially welcomed with a warm greeting but then he was getting too pushy and rushing us to place our order. Worst was when I realised he overcharged us for the burgers and also then got them wrong. When I realised he charged extra I asked him for a simple refund – to which he replied he doesn’t know how to use the card machine to refund and for me to come back following morning – as if I could come back from Birmingham to this branch in Oxford.
Next was when we picked up our order and went to the car – I thought let’s check the quantities and I was correct / he missed a couple out of 10 so we headed back . My wife was holding me back from giving him a proper mouthful. Even some of the deals they still advertise on the electronic board are not available but they could simply just cover it.
21.4.2025 Tried this mixed food place after a session of badminton – not sure whether to give 3 or 4 stars as food was good but service not so well.
Food took forever to get ready and staff were not very friendly. For a few burgers and extras took under just 1 hour to get ready with hardly any other customers around. However – the burgers and fries were decent , probably give it 8/10.
Will be going there again tomorrow hopefully as we’re in Oxford so let’s see how the service and food is this time.

The Kids Tell Bad Jokes
Was tempted to have 5 Guys takeaway delivered (I’m in Oxford for overnight for a conference), but decided to go independent instead.
Nearly didn’t order from here as was looking at Deliveroo and couldn’t see milkshakes available (which I definitely wanted), but they were available if I ordered from Just Eat…
Unavailable to order on their own, but could be ordered if I added as an upgrade to the meal deal drink, bizarrely. Anyway, very glad I did! Smokey Texas Burger looked a bit small, but was DELICIOUS.
Cajun fries also great. Probably would be too spicy for my kids (and they’re not exactly wimps) but spot on for me.
Funnily enough, the oreo milkshake was the only disappointment – with no straw supplied and a big wodge of whipped cream on top, it was tricky to drink, and I was more looking for a thick McDonald’s style sludgy shake, where this was a bit thinner. But still nice enough and it hit the spot.
Would definitely recommend the burger and chips though!

Once again we are back at Rick’s and never disappointed. The food was amazing the best chicken ever and also the wing so delicious . I wil give a ten if I could . Sharing plate also unbelievable.

I often have breakfast at Rick’s when I visit Oxford. I always liked it because they did an excellent English breakfast that wasn’t swimming in grease. Previously the bacon and sausage were very good quality ( beef I think) and the eggs were poached. This elevated it above the average greasy spoon offering. Sadly this is no longer the case. Don’t get me wrong, there nothing actually bad about what they now offer. The bacon is average and the sausage is less than average. So, if you want an averagely good English breakfast, that is what you’ll get here now. Such a shame as what they offered before set them apart from the usual.

the cutest diner with amazing food at a great price. you can tell the owners really care about the place and put their all into it. I had the pancakes and caramel cappuccino literally 3 years ago when I visited oxford and I still think about it on a weekly basis which is why Im writing this review haha.

Food is so good!
I had breakfast wrap.
My son had cinnamon French toast.
Both came within 15 minutes.
Wrap was so good I didn’t want it to end.
The French toast looked super sticky sweet and topped with whipped cream!
Staff and welcoming. Also has self serve kiosks available.
Accessible friendly for all!

Fabulous brunch 10/10. Seriously love this place I can’t believe I have no been here before. There is something for everyone. This place is an absolute student haven. The food is absolutely EXCELLENT and is really well priced. My pancakes were absolutely delicious and only £7! my milkshake was made with real strawberrys and ice cream and was super super thick. Service was really fast and the guy was really sweet.

Awesome breakfast stop. Nice and clean, well laid out interior and a good selection of food options on offer. We chose the pancakes and they were great. We found them really fresh and tasty. The coffee was a little weak for my taste but was still a great flavour.
There are QR codes on the tables so you can grab a seat and order contact free. The free wifi is an added bonus.

I came to Rick’s Diner shortly before peak breakfast hours on a Sunday morning.
The diner itself is charming with plenty of natural wood and brick decor. The staff are friendly and the food is pretty good. Prices are decent. I would recommend Rick’s for breakfast, overall.
The one downside to my visit is that I ordered eggs florentine and the eggs were prepared medium-boiled instead of poached (see photos). Overall, though, the taste was pretty nice even if the eggs were not runny at all.
If you have the chance, I’d recommend checking Rick’s out.
