Stopped by for some breakfast. Place was mostly full of locals and some not so local. This place is not fancy, but it was clean and neat. Our waitress Amy was on the ball with our Coffee and food orders. We ordered the Fraser Valley Breakfast which consisted of 2 Eggs, Potato’s choice of Meat and Toast. We both opted for Ham as the meat. Our food came out quick for as busy as they were. Our Eggs were done just like we ordered them, perfect. The Potato’s and Ham were both good. The food and Coffee were hot, and all was good. I guess the locals know where to go for a reasonable priced food that’s plentiful and good. They do have a couple tables outside in the front to eat at if you don’t want to be inside. There is also a counter to sit at. Seemed like the waitress their knew everybody’s name and treated us like one of the locals also. Amy checked on us a bunch of times to make sure we were well taking care of. They even had old school trivia questions on paper at the tables to keep you amused. The Salt and Pepper shakers were in the shape of a Semi Truck. I just loved this place and their food. I give this place 4 out of 5 stars.

Our server seemed lethargic – we didn’t see much of her. We asked her to give us separate checks, and she just divided the total in two (which means one of us paid more than ordered, one less). The staff doesn’t seem to back each other up, which would be helpful in a busy place like this. I’d have loved a coffee refill but couldn’t even get anyone with a coffee pot to look me in the eye.
Still, everyone can have an off day, so I would try again.
I just ate the best tasting, most filling, reasonably priced, generously portioned breakfast of my life. Hyperbole? No way. We haven’t been in the York area since summer 2023 (last year we were in MDI), and couldn’t wait to get back to Rick’s for a hearty breakfast. There’s just nothing like a truly tasty vacation breakfast to power you through a day of beaching and walking and boating. I had The Cruiser, the most awesome omelette ever, and my husband had French toast, potatoes, and sausage patties. Everything was delicious & so filling. Cooked to perfection, even! And we love the coffee at Rick’s. It’s actually the only coffee I’ve had that is so smooth, I don’t get the usual stomach burn I do with literally every coffee I’ve drunk. I could drink their coffee every day. Oh, also: my husband ordered breakfast at 8:15am on a busy Tuesday morning and was on the road with the goods by 8:30am. To whoever made breakfast & coffee around 8-9am on 9/2/2025…we love you.

Rick’s came highly recommended by our beach neighbor, so of course we had to stop in. Well, my husband did and brought breakfast home (I’m not eating in restaurants currently). I had The Cruiser, which is an omelette filled with bacon, caramelized onion, spinach, and goat cheese served with potatoes and toast. It was divine!! And my husband thoroughly enjoyed The Cape Neddick. Even our coffees were delicious. And my husband enjoyed the local vibe. So it looks like Rick’s is our new breakfast (and coffee) spot. I can’t wait to try the lunches!
* Also, the prices are great. Our breakfasts were between $10-$11, and the servings, again, are very generous.
I can’t wait to go back.
