The facility is clean, neat and modern.
I had smoked chicken wing plate, with potato salad, mustard slaw, toast, a drink, and a side order of pulled brisket. Big pile of food for right at $20.
Chicken wings were smoked “fall off the bone” tender, served naked so you could add sauce to your taste. So, not your traditional wings, but they were really really good.
Potato salad was normal.
Mustard slaw was interesting, but be advised it is SPICY.
Overall, outstanding food and value per dollar.
Ordered the pork sandwich combo with mayo (I do not recommend…go with regular sauce), seasoned fries and a sweet tea. I have had tons of barbecue and my grandfather was a pitmaster and this was mediocre at best.
The sandwich itself was cold so theres no telling how long it had been sitting out and so were the fries and it was a busy Saturday night.
Quite disappointed.
Sides were ok but not special. My ribs had a good flavor and you could tell they got a good smoke. They were a bit dry on the edges and fell of the bone far too readily. I tried the Rick’s sauce which seemed to be a variation of an Alabama white sauce. It was ok, but I preferred the hot bbq sauce which was vinegary but not overwhelmingly so they had a mild sauce as well which I did not try.
Overall it was a good meal and a good value.
They were waiting because the employees stood there and talked, laughed, and played instead of dropping the tenders when the order was originally placed. They were waiting just like I waited. Im not understanding the emphasis on those customers WAITING being more important than me WAITING for the same SERVICE and FOOD that those customers paid to have- just like I did. My food wasn’t free. And this wasn’t a discounted service or meal.
After telling the employee I would wait she became visibly angry and stormed over to the same heavy set lady that was standing and talking with the male employee that was supposed to be cooking my tenders. She walks up to the window repeating the same nonsense about me pulling up. When I asked her if the guy that was playing around with the black styrofoam plate was cooking my food she said YES. When I told her to just give me the loaded potato, suddenly there’s a change in price.
Ive included a pic of their loaded potato and both receipts. I ordered the $8.99 combo and upgraded to a large. Because he was standing there playing over my food and I didn’t want it- I was charged $6.99 for a loaded potato and separately for a large drink ($2.59). According to their logic, 4 chicken tenders is worth $0.12 or either I was supposed to accept the unprofessional guy literally waving the plate in the air then battering my food up on it. If she is supposed to be a manager she can’t say she didn’t see him playing with the plate. They were facing each other while talking and laughing.
I hope the owners review their cameras and policies so that this is the last time this happens. Review your cameras from 4/12/25 8:45pm until 8:54pm and tell me would you have accepted food presented to you under those same circumstances. Also review how I was charged for their issues. They need to be held accountable including the supposed to be manager.
By the way, the loaded baked potato normally is good and the butter comes in small containers where you can add as much/little as you prefer. This loaded potato was drenched in butter. Im not interested in having heart disease. The dr pepper taste like it was made or is stored near vegetable oil. The flavor isn’t normal at all. The best part about this meal was the ice.
