Great food! Walked in my first time and the atmosphere was cozy and the owner/staff is very friendly and welcoming! My husband supported me with lunch without me knowing where the food came from, and it tasted so good! Last night, he brought me here and we ordered takeout! The pulled chicken was so smooth and just falls completely off the bone and very tasty! Those greens are everything! Can’t wait to try more Highly Recommend

If this is the same place that used to be on Old Perry Rd in the gas station then it makes me sad to post this. I went to the store front on Russell Pkwy, Friday Jan.16th at 120pm and was overly disappointed. $11.16 for a brisket sandwich that had a ton of unmelted fat cap, was a tad under seasoned for my taste and was supposed to come on Texas Toast but instead was served on a cold hamburger bun. Had they been busy I could understand but I was the only customer there and the cook helped take my order. If you were out of the toast then let someone know don’t just toss it on whatever then hand it out and expect people to be ok with that. I really enjoy supporting local businesses but experiences like this keep me from going back to give them another try. The employees were very nice and the restaurant was super clean so I hope for a better experience in the future.
UPDATE: The owner of the store called me back and offered to make the situation right and would speak to staff to ensure communication was better in the future and that they double checked orders before they went out. Big thanks to Rick for calling me personally and correcting my order!
Second Update: Met with the owner today and got a replacement meal! This one was on point and delicious! I would have photos but I ate it before I remembered to take any! I will for sure go back and hopefully I’ll see the burnt ends on the menu again soon!

This is the BEST collards I have had outside of my own. The ribs are moist and delicious and the baked beans are good as well. My mom and husband LOVED the Brunswick stew. Whenever I am in town; I will definitely be going back!

I went in today for those good collards. Upon checking my bag I see a container that is the exact same size of the one in my pictures. That is what they are calling a small and charging $3 and some change for. I was very disappointed; so needless to say I can’t support that. I have never seen any place I get food from charging that much for such a sample size and the cornbread is overpriced as well. I wish them continued success but I won’t be a returning customer anymore.

Man, I have to say that this is one of the best gas Station BBQ spots that I have ever been in. I googled good BBQ near me and this place definitely didn’t disappoint. Ribs were juicy and super tender. Pulled pork was delicious. The Mac-n-cheese was extra cheesy delicious. The collard greens are the star of the whole plate though. I washed it down with a sweet tea. If you are down near Old Perry Road stop through, I promise they won’t disappoint.

Don’t, I repeat don’t come here. The staffs kids are in here doing “Tik Tok” dances, and the time it took to get 3 sides was ridiculous. Kids were running this business today Definitely not worth the $10.69 I paid. My cornbread was left off and I refused to wait any longer. I decided to give KROGER my business instead. Will not return.

Good ribs and brisket, when they have enough for the day. I’ve been here 7 times and was only able to leave with ribs or brisket 3 times. They once let me pay $85.57 for 4 plates even after I asked them if they had what I ordered before I paid they still came back and told me they were out and had to refund my money. I don’t believe they are ready for 2 locations or they just don’t get enough business to plan enough ahead. I would really love to have a rib and brisket plate one day from Rick D’s but they always have been a let down when I have a taste for good bbq, been forced to go to Sunny’s

Coworker and I got two plates. Brisket was dry, I couldn’t eat it without mixing it with Mac n cheese. Coworker got a coke, he had to ask for it at the end of the meal, no service. On top of that, the coke was flat. Chicken salad was too sugary. No condiments or sauces available. Our combined check was about $50. Not coming back.

This is the absolute best BBQ place in town. Someone is cooking with LOVE and it shows. It’s food you’re going to get at the family reunion that’ll stick to your bones and make you happy for the rest of the day. Just perfect, trust me on this.
