I have literally never left a review, but this was just the craziest poor experience I have had at a restaurant. My husband and I made an order for carry out this morning. He ordered me the breakfast special with eggs, bacon, and hashbrowns, making sure to stress no toast in the order because of the fact I have a gluten allergy. They agreed there would be no toast. My husband went to go pick it up, confirmed with the person there that there was no toast in the meal and they confirmed there was not. Upon arriving home lo and behold there is toast covering all the food contaminating it from being able to be consumed due to my allergy. My husband called back to tell them about the mistake because now the food was unable to be eaten. He was met with a woman telling him the person was “pretty sure” she didn’t put the toast in that box… (I’m looking at it right now.) And said it was not worth it to them financially to make a new one for us. They must be pretty strapped for cash to be worried about two eggs and some bacon. My husband and I are both very frustrated and I’m still hungry! Proof of bread lol since they told us we weren’t telling the truth.

Well established eatery. Local hang out for the somewhat older crowd. The waitress was stellar. My patty melt was excellent. My wife fish sandwich was NQR (not quite right). Without hesitation we got a different item ( patty melt). We will highly recommend.

Looked online to see if they serve breakfast all day, said they serve breakfast all day except on Sundays . When you think of breakfast you think of everything eggs, pancakes, waffles, bacon etc. oh no for the all day breakfast they serve everything else but pancakes, waffles, french toast. Even though it takes the same amount of time as everything else they serve from breakfast. So they need to clarify better on that. So Then I had to get the chicken strip lunch. Was not good do not recommend. My boyfriend got a breakfast plate and it was served cold. My fork was also dirty when I opened up my napkin. Spent 26 dollars for two meals we didn’t even eat because my boyfriend’s plate was cold and I had lost appetite due to being upset. Won’t be back. Wish I would’ve just paid for our drinks and left before ordering any food.

Used to be such a great place to eat. Now the portions are so small it is better to eat fast food with similar tasting food and bigger portions. Picture in this review is my finger in comparison to the cod dinner. Two small cod pieces, tater tots and Cole slaw was $9.49 on special. I literally thought they were playing a joke on me. My wife got an upcharged side salad and it really was comical. Should have gotten a picture.

I came from out of town. New York to be exact and I split my time with Los Angeles. I’ve tasted food all over and dealt with people all over too. The staff was kind personable friendly and quick as well as attentive. 10/10 would recommend very good experience and affordable. I liked it so much I became a bit of a regular for the time I was there. Great people.

Excellent wait staff, excellent food & soups. We had a very good experience at Richards in Columbia City and they had fast service. The burger was done just right & the waitress always made sure we had a full glass. The best apple dumpling I’ve had in a while & the ice cream is amazing as well. 5/5 stars!

Always a highlight of my visit to Columbia City. I have friends and family meet with me here because the delicious consistency and great service brings me right back to my childhood.
It had been almost 2 years since my last gathering here, everyone else are lunch and dinner regulars, I need breakfast. Biscuits, gravy, and hashbrowns puts me right back on my Grandpa’s lap.
Today, the gravy had changed. I asked about it and was initially told that it had not changed, at least not for 10 years. Later, I was told that it had in fact been changed. My group had already confirmed it was different along with me.
Richard’s still great food and service, but steeple items shouldn’t be messed with. 🙁

All 3 of us ordered the 3 piece chicken special. We all ordered mashed potatoes, I also had a salad, Dad had green beans and Brenda has the bean salad. The dinner also came with rolls. The food was very good..especially the chicken. The service was ok but I know she did the best she could being as there was only 2 servers. This restaurant needs 3 servers at least, during the dinner rush. I’ve been here before and I am sure that I will be coming back when I visit Columbia City Indiana again.
