Was craving Chinese food and this place had a great reviews. I’d been to JDs and the Phó place numerous times, but had never been here, so I decided to swing by and check it out.
At just about noon, it appeared I was the fiest customer of the day, but it was MLK,Jr Day, so I didnt think anytbing of it other than some nearby businesses possibly being closed for the holiday.
The interior is gorgeous. See the photos. I was pleasantly surprised and wondered if I was under-dressed for lunch.
A lady greeted me and she made all the difference in my experience. She was just so full of happiness that her demeanor was contagious. According to her I look like a movie star (I don’t) and “customers were king”, which was a new one for me.
As I always do when I try a new Chinese food place, I ordered the orange chicken and a couple of pork egg rolls. The lady kept calling me a “big man” in that way thst feeds your ego and, I’ll admit, I ate it up.
Even though they had a soda fountain, when I ordered a Diet Coke, she brought out a can and a stainless steel cup.
The egg rolls were … meh. I, honestly, couldn’t taste any pork and wondered if she brought me the vegetarian ones on the menu. My orange chicken didnt taste very ‘orange’ and seemed like they were flash fried from frozen. The orange chicken looked better than it tasted. My meal came with fried rice, which was also unimpressive.
Maybe the food was the left overs from yesterday or maybe it’s always like this. I’d try this place again to check, but maybe not with the intention of being this early in the day.

Amazing Food! Went here for Lunch, they are offering the authentic style Sichuan dishes. Which is hot and spicy. I had the Fish in Chili Oil and Wonton in Spicy Oil. Really tasty!!

I grew up eating Chinese food, so this restaurant has become one of my favorites in the area for daily meals. Also, the prices are pretty reasonable here.
I come here a couple of times a week whenever I don’t feel like cooking. The owner and staff create such a welcoming, home-like atmosphere.
I even bring my own reusable container when dining here or for to-go order. It feels good to enjoy delicious food while also being sustainable.

Rice Story Chinese Kitchen at Arapahoe and Dayton was officially open for business earlier today. Quite a different selection than Honey Basil Express before, offering many authentic Chinese dishes. Customers could order a la carte or $13.99 for a lunch box of their own selections. The $13.99 option appeared to be a better deal as customers got the opportunity to try different items. Certainly a good alternative when short on time to prepare meals at home.

I have to tell quite you that this isn’t the same place as it was six months ago. I ordered Happy Ending with Pork Egg rolls and if you like a whole garden full of Green peppers and lots of yucky veggies then this is your place. I have been to a lot of Chinese restaurants and they have amazing Happy Family meals and this one doesn’t have a happy family, more like a completely dysfunctional family with DNA problems. The help was kind but the kitchen still must be looking for the rest of the family. I have found More meat in a can of peanuts than served here so I would not recommend this place unless you bring in your own food from Panda Express.
