Came during soft opening for the 50% deals. Seated without any wait since we came around 5:10, but almost full already. Ordered and long wait for about 40-minute to receive our order. Server was attentive and friendly. First time trying Korean Katsu. Prefer the Katsu with curry instead of brown gravy or katsu sauce. Overall a good experience.

The new rice junky reopening with the new food menu is a blessing in San Jose! It is the only place that offers the Korean style katsu along with Japanese style, both of them being the top-tier quality in the Bay area. The food quality is impeccable and the hospitality is amazing every time I visit.

The ambiance is clean, modern, and pleasantly cheerful when there are people around. The staff truly helps the customers feel comfortable, always with a smile. They also a special eating challenge that makes it a fun and engaging environment, bringing the restaurant together as one, cheering for their success.

Everything aside, a restaurant should have good food. Rice junky delivers exactly that with cherries on top. Their food is amazingly delicious and their plating presentation is also top notch. It also doesn’t rip your wallet apart in the world of inflation we are in now. They have good selection of alcohol ranging from draft beers to unique Korean sojus.

A must visit in the bay area. Get to this place before it gets too busy with lines outside the restaurant!

I happened upon this place by chance. It doesn’t appear to be open yet. I was walking by and went closer because I thought they were advertising an opening. I wanted to see what new thing would be in the area. So don’t be fooled by its vacant-looking front. Believe me, you won’t regret trying this place.

Despite its small size, the layout ensures there’s sufficient space to dine comfortably. The establishment is clean, bright, and inviting, with a pleasant aroma, and the bathroom is spacious and well-lit. They even provide hand cream, among other amenities.

As for the service, the staff is very attentive and friendly, constantly checking in to make sure your order and food are perfect. Their menu is quite extensive, and their prices! In this economy, it’s like winning the lottery! Dishes are well-served, flavorful, and affordable. I already want to go back!

The donkatsu is delicious and a really big portion! The sauce on the katsu is pretty unique with a nice oniony flavor. The tteokbokki had good flavor but it was more watery than I expected since usually when I’ve had it it’s a thicker sauce. Great prices too at under $15-20 for almost all items for a nice lunch or dinner!

We ended up waiting 3 hours before we got our food. Initially they said the wait was one hour. Ok that’s fine. After 1 hour they said there were 3 parties ahead of us. Ok that’s annoying but kind of alright. What’s not fine was that, including my party, there were multiple parties outside waiting to be seated and there were parties inside who were done eating who were just chatting for a long time. In those cases the restaurant definitely needs to let those people know there are many parties waiting to be seated so the seated parties should be mindful to leave to allow more people to be seated. Also once our table was vacant, they took way too long to clean up the table to the point my group of friends joked we would clean it up ourselves. We could see the servers inside picking up plates one per hand and leaving used napkins on the table instead of just stacking everything together. Shoutout to the doorman who went inside to finish cleaning up the table so we could finally sit after almost 2.5 hours. Once inside the servers were not very attentive to us and not once refilled our water. Food was pretty good, atmosphere was nice, service was -10/10 except for the door guy.

Had dinner here and loved it. Free parking in downtown San Jose already a huge plus! The vibe inside is nice. Love the low lighting and a pretty mural on the wall.

Sera took great care of us. She was so sweet, super attentive, and made us feel really welcome. We got two stone pot rice bowls, the steak and the chicken mayo, and the chicken mayo was definitely my favorite. We also tried the raw marinated salmon and shrimp plate with seaweed and wasabi. Really unique dish. I liked the salmon more because it wasn’t as salty.

We got the tonkatsu and the gravy on top was so good. It was a little smokey and fruity, it went perfectly with the pork. They also have draft beer

This newly opened restaurant offers great portions of food at very reasonable prices. I love that there’s now a place where I can experience the essence of Korean street food. They have simple yet delicious dishes, and everything I tried was tasty. I definitely plan to visit again and will likely come here often!

From the outside it looks unassuming, yet the inside is well catered with traditional and aesthetic decor including murals and paintings on the walls. They serve authentic Korean bites. We ordered the tuna Kimbob which was delicious. The well seasoned tuna mixed extremely well with the vegetables and rice. While the bulgogi sandwich provided an amazing texture experience, combining the melt-in-your-mouth bulgogi along with the crispy toast. The Issac toast is exactly what you would expect from a restaurant in Korea. Not only was all the food delicious the prices were very affordable, unlike many other restaurants in downtown San Jose.
