The best Indonesian food in Houston, hands down!! And I’m from Indonesia. The mpek-mpek is so delicious with the sauce, and the sate is not dry, although the peanut sauce can use a little more seasoning. The rendang is not like rendang Padang (in case you’re familiar), but very tender, saucy and pretty much melts in your mouth. Bakso with bakmi is pretty awesome too, you want to ask for their special homemade chili or it won’t be the same as what I tasted tonight. I come here probably once a month to get my Indo fix, only because it’s so far from where we live. If I lived closer I would probably come once a week. You won’t go wrong… oh btw, it’s an Asian place, service is never the first priority.

Yummy in my tummy! Great food. Was trying to find Indonesian food at Houston. We ordered Beef Rendang, Gado-gado, Pempek. The Beef rendang and Gado-gado was yummy . Pempek average. Overall, great food! Friendly owner. Will be back whenever I will be around Houston.

Overpriced, overworked, understaffed, yet they did well despite how busy it was with only a cooks and two customer service people. My food was served within 10 minutes from ordering. They didn’t have water. I had to buy water for 75 cents and buy rice for 85 cents. My Indian dish there was $17. It tasted pretty good, but the egg soup didn’t have any seasoning. She had me get my own bottle of water because they were very understaffed. They were still nice and respectful. They as in the staff that works there. I don’t think the food was worth near $30. I think Indian dishes are just more expensive and I’m glad they have both Indian dishes and Asian dishes at one place. I would recommend this place for a quick, satisfactory meal. I also like that the place is spacious.

Everything was delicious and had a unique mouth feel and texture to them. This is my first experience with Indonesian food and I have to say this place really went above and beyond when it came to food. I see other reviewers commenting that this place is very consistent when it comes to quality and I’m glad because I’m very happy with what I received. Definitely one of my new favorite spots!

I’ve been going here for the past 16 years and now the manager that sits in the front taking orders was highly disrespectful and also racist my order didn’t come out the way I wanted I asked politely if I could just get it the way I ordered it and refused and had a big attitude because I didn’t want it I understand it’s your restaurant but if I’m paying YOU I should get it how I want it soo sad you lost a loyal customer you’ll never get back I’ll take my hard earned money else where …I highly advise not to eat from here and the food has not been like it use to be…

I have been going to this location for years and each time, it is consistently good! I only order the Indonesian dishes – rendang sapi, cah buncis, ayam goreng kuning, kuayteow goreng and on my last trip there, tried the ayam panggang bumbu cabe. Love every dish!

A hidden gem in plain sight. This is one of the few legitimate Indochinese restaurants in town. I have been coming to this place for a few years and it never disappoints me. Each plate has it’s own authentic taste. The are other wanna be Chinese restaurants that try to pass their food as authentic but the taste and texture is bland and has a generic taste. The prices in here are reasonable. You get more than what you pay for. Not many know this but this place has a second menu. They sell Indonesian food as well. This is one of the few Indonesian restaurants in town. The food is much more superior in taste and quality. Not everyone tries the Indonesian menu due to the fear of trying something new. If you haven’t done so, you need to do just do it. You wont be disappointed. They also have won awards and are one of the 100 best restaurants in Houston.

I’ve been going here since I was a kid and it’s still one of my favourite hidden gems. Sometimes it’s a bit inconsistent but the food is always great and ordering is really easy and simple. Just a call and your order is ready in 20 minutes. And by the time you get home the rice is still steaming and the smell is still strong and delicious. Best comfort food you could have.

While there is some Chinese food it is really best for Indonesian food, which is not very common around the country. If you’re in the area and never have had Indonesian food this is a great place to stop by.
