We hadn’t been to Ricardo’s in many years and decided to go with another couple — so glad we did! We got complimentary fried zucchini (crispy and delicious) and side rigatoni. I had the platter with manicotti, two meatballs, and four stuffed ravioli (two cheese, two meat). Joel had the filet and baked potato — cooked perfectly! We also got side salads.

Before we left, we made sure to order two meatballs for our new rescue dog waiting in the truck. Our server, I believe her name was Katie, went above and beyond — she even had the meatballs cut up and surprised us by paying for them herself. Outstanding service and such a kind gesture that truly made our night. Everything was excellent — great food, warm atmosphere, and a reminder of why we’ve always loved Ricardo’s. We won’t wait so long to come back next time.

They need to learn the cube rule of food. When I ordered the “Meatball sandwich” I was shocked when 3 meatballs with a single piece of bread underneath reached my table. Sure it tasted good but it was NO sandwich… Even Stevie Wonder could see it was not a sandwich. Very sad.

Many years ago, Ricardo’s was a “nicer” restaurant, suitable for special occasions and popular on prom nights. Sadly, the high menu prices continue to signal “nicer” restaurant expectations but no longer align with the atmosphere and meal presentation. A 7 oz steak costs more than $30 and is delivered to the table by itself on a plain white plate. Steak juice spilled sloppily all over the plate and not even a sprig of parsley to enhance presentation. The meal price gets you only one side dish with no salad included. The place itself doesn’t seem to have been updated over at least the last 20 years. It was dark, drab, with dark patterned vinyl (vinyl!) tablecloths on the tables. It felt very diner-like. The food was pretty good but the prices and atmosphere made the overall experience feel quite over-priced and more than a little disappointing. What a shame…

We had a really nice dinner at Ricardo’s. The sauce is really good! Our waitress was fantastic! We had the fisherman platter and the Italian platter. Both meals come with fried zucchini and a sample of pasta. I also had a side of spaghetti. Everything was prepared very well. I would highly recommend this restaurant.

First, Erin was an outstanding server. My wife had the fresh manicotti with two meatballs. I had the Italian combo with two manicotti, four ravioli and two meatballs. Before the meals were served, we got a salad, small bowl of ziti with sauce, a small plate of lightly battered fried zucchini and a basket of bread. All of this is made fresh there. With a strawberry daiquiri, diet pop and a piece of peanut butter pie, it came to $59 and some change. Truly a hidden gem here.

You really can’t beat small town family owned restaurants. Feels like you’re walking into your Italian grandmas living room here. If you’re into that you’ll love this place. I ordered the cubed steak sandwich with cheese and regret not getting onions and shrooms because it could have used a little more juice. Taste was very good though and the fries were impeccable. Also price was not bad at all for a sit down dining experience.

I tried to give them a chance more than once, I was over charged for one, didn’t have soup either time I ordered so I had to get the salad, they put my bread underneath my spaghetti so it was soggy, small portions, not consistent & definitely give racist vibes. $30 for 2 tenders a hand full of like warm fries & a lunch chicken parm never again will I waste my time & money im super disappointed AGAIN
Update spoke to management I was overcharged by $6 which I was told I can pick up no apology, just rude and only thing she had to say was they always put the bread underneath next time ask for them not to, nothing about the missing food over charger or nothing else just acted like I was inconveniencing her for calling just sad!

I have been enjoying the cuisine at Ricardo’s Restaurant for decades. This lower eastside establishment has been consistently and with great hospitality, serving an outstanding menu unique to this area. From the fresh bread, rigatoni’s, and fried zucchini as a complimentary starter to the very quick and pleasant servitor, this restaurant has been doing what it takes to be around for seventy five years.

The steaks, homefries and zucchini keep me coming back for more. The cube steak is excellent if you don’t want to dish out the cash for another type of steak.
