My husband and I came here for lunch and were pleasantly surprised by this hidden gem of a Venezuelan restaurant. The space is beautifully designed with a warm, inviting aesthetic, featuring a stylish bar area, a spacious dining room, and exceptionally clean restrooms. The overall ambiance was both modern and comfortable, making it a great spot for a casual lunch or a relaxed dinner date.
We shared the Parrilla Mar y Tierra para 2, a stunning surf-and-turf platter featuring tender sirloin steak strips, juicy grilled chicken, flavorful chorizo, perfectly cooked shrimp, crispy squid rings, and fresh mussels. The dish was served over a bed of golden fries and accompanied by crisp lettuce, ripe tomatoes, and creamy avocado slices. Every bite was bursting with flavor, and the generous portion was perfect for sharing.
Our server was kind, attentive, and knowledgeable, offering great suggestions without being overbearing. To finish, we shared a traditional flan—smooth, creamy, and just the right amount of sweetness.
This restaurant is a true hidden treasure, and we’ll definitely be back to try more of their menu!

Had a long lunch here with dear friends. For most of us it was our first experience with Venezuelan cuisine and our friendly, attentive server gave us excellent recommendations and tips. The food was top-notch – we really enjoyed the sampler platter and each of us had different arepas that were all delicious. The garlic and hot sauces especially set our tastebuds singing.
We’re so glad that we came here – the food is great, the service warm and friendly, and the atmosphere welcoming and cozy. ¡Muchas gracias!

I highly reccomend this spot!! We’ve eaten at their first location downtown and that was an awesome experience, so I was happy to see a second location open up closer to me!!
Food is inexpensive and sooooo delicious. We got the pabellon arepa and the chicken empanada, they were both so delicious, so fresh and crunchy, and the sauce/napkin tray on the table is so appreciated
The meal was only $25 with a drink, we are coming back for sure!!!
I’m so happy to see more Venezuelan restaurants open up closer to the suburbs and I want them to stick around!!!

This place is FANTASTAMAZING! The food is exceptional (and no I am not a paid promoter or anything of this sort). This is a real review from a real normal every day person. I came here for someone else’s b-day and boy was I impressed by their unique menu. They have so many options that I want to go back to try more! I had the 3 different meats Arepa and that was damn good. It comes with beautifully seasoned steak, chicken, and chorizo meat with hand made cheese and guac! So tasty. They have 2 sauces in the middle and the one white garlicy sauce is SO good. bought a bottle after dinner (10oz for $7). Overall the food was great, the service was on point, and the atmosphere was clean and relaxing with some nice latin tunes 🙂

I’ve been meaning to try this since they opened and I finally got the chance! It was conveniently close by and very appealing as you pass by. It’s beautifully decorated and lively music is playing.
We ordered arepas and they were TO DIE FOR! LOTS of food for the price and so filling. Meat is soft and delicious. Definitely recommend!

We can here on a weekday afternoon. We live nearby, but was hesitant. I’m glad we did! There was plenty of table, I felt bad because we were the only ones, but everything was great! The atmosphere, the service amd most importantly, the food! If you’ve never tried an arrepa, its definitely worth trying. We had the Barbie (shredded chicken, cheese amd avacado), we also had the Rica Punta (steak, cheese, tomato, avacado and a green sauce). They were phenomenal! Oh! We also had the Device on plantains… yummm . Worth it!

Rica Arepa, the newest gem on Addison Avenue in Chicago, is already making waves with its authentic Venezuelan flavors. We decided to dive into a variety of dishes, starting with the Pabellón Brunch. This twist on a classic brought together savory shredded beef, black beans, sweet plantains, and perfectly cooked arepas, creating a harmonious blend of sweet and savory in every bite.
Next, the Tequenellos arrived, and they did not disappoint. Crispy on the outside, with warm, gooey cheese inside, these Venezuelan cheese sticks were simply irresistible.
The Rompe Colchón was an adventure for the palate. A seafood lover’s dream, it combined fresh seafood with bold, zesty flavors that felt like a vacation in the tropics.
For drinks, I sampled Chicha, a creamy, rice-based drink with just the right amount of sweetness, and my wife had the Papelón con Limón, a refreshing mix of raw sugarcane and lime that was both tangy and energizing.
Though new to this side of town, Rica Arepa is clearly making a name for itself with bold, authentic Venezuelan dishes that are both comforting and packed with flavor. It’s a must-try!
