Make sure you book ahead before coming. The ribs are excellent, very tender, with the meat falling off the bone effortlessly. The side mixed green salads and soup were very good as well. I believe the soup is an Austrian beef broth with pasta. Everything is nicely cooked and well seasoned. Excellent beer to go with the meal. Asked for extra ketchup and hot sauce but they are chargeable.

Just finished a performance at the Vienna State Opera and came straight here – great location!
Recommend booking in advance (though we got seated as walk-ins that day).
Ordered ribs, salad, and French onion soup.
The salad with ham felt a bit unusual – you can skip it.
Ribs were outstanding – juicy and delicious!
The onion soup was the richest and most unique I’ve had in Vienna; tried several others afterward and none came close. Highly recommend!!

Ribs of Vienna *** We actually came the day before for dinner, but the restaurant was fully booked. Managed to secure a table for lunch the next day — so we came back.

Service here is fast and no-nonsense.
The staff clearly work under pressure,
and at times it can come across as rushed,
even a little abrupt.

But the food more than made up for it.

We ordered the ribs with five different flavours, meant for two people — and even with four of us, we struggled to finish it.

The ribs were excellent: tender, well-seasoned, and cooked just right.

The starters were good too. We had fried mozzarella and deep-fried mushrooms — crispy outside, still juicy inside, and not greasy despite being deep-fried.

The restaurant itself is located in the basement, nothing fancy, very much focused on getting food out efficiently.

If you can get a table, the food is genuinely good and worth the visit.

We’ve been to Ribs of Vienna probably around four times, and every single visit has been an absolute delight. We always bring our friends here to show them this place, because the meat is just insanely good.

The service is excellent. One of the waiters, I believe his name is Ivan, was wonderful, and there was also a lovely female server who took great care of us. Everyone is friendly, attentive, and professional.

We’ve tried different rib sets — large and small portions, BBQ sauce, sweet sauce, classic ribs — and everything has been absolutely delicious every time. The beer is always great as well.

The truffle French fries are a must-try — simply amazing. I would definitely recommend making a reservation, as the place is usually quite busy.

Prices are very reasonable, the food quality is outstanding, and the waiting time is very good — everything is prepared and served quite quickly. The meat is truly phenomenal. Highly recommend this place to everyone.

Wanted to come here for the novelty of dining in an underground bunker so I wasn’t expecting much from the food.

Was pleasantly surprised at how tasty everything was! The ‘fillet steak’ was incredibly tasty and tender but don’t ask me what cut it was, I honestly couldn’t tell. The signature ribs came in a huge portion so order carefully!

Highly recommend this place!

Dare I say the best ribs in town or even one of the best ribs I had the pleasure of eating. This is a highly popular joint so reservation is highly recommended. We had the fried mushroom, gourmet ribs and mix ribs (Vienna, Ginger & Orient). The ribs were so delicious. The meat so soft and tender that they fall off the bones easily. The portion is quite big as well.

The ribs were good, but the service was even better! My husband and I had an amazing time. The staff were cheerful and undeniably handsome (even my husband said so ) which definitely added to the experience!

Be sure to book ahead, because there’s always a long line waiting outside.

P.S. We loved the cherry bomb surprise — thank you!

The food was so amazing Juicy ribs and amazing dips as well. Very big portions. Compare with the chicken wings, they were just fine, not having a lot of taste. But still I will give a 5 stars for the delicious ribs and beer

P.S recommended to reserve a table before hand. The place was completely full and we waited like 45mins to get a table for us. But still we were so happy that we waited until the end and enjoyed our meal.

Food was amazing! We ordered the Ribs of Vienna and the portion was huge — definitely more than enough for two Asian ladies. The meat was tender, juicy, and full of flavor. The onion soup was also delicious, rich, and savoury. Everything paired perfectly with a dark beer.

Service was friendly, fast, and attentive.
Highly recommend!

I popped into Ribs of Vienna on a Friday evening without a reservation, fully expecting to be turned away from this famous underground cellar, but luckily I got a table after a few minutes.

Knowing the ribs would be a heavy meal, I skipped the fried starters and went for a comforting potato and mushroom soup with bacon. My waitress was incredibly kind and took the time to recommend her personal favorites, which led me to order the mixed board of ginger, diablo, and garlic ribs so I could try different tastes.
It takes about 25 to 30 minutes for them to prepare the ribs after ordering, but it was a great choice. As soon as that massive, sauce-covered wooden board arrived with plenty of coleslaw and dips, I knew the wait was 100% worth it !
