The place is beautiful, and they make great use of their space. It feels like stepping back in time, when dining was an acitivity reserved for the affluent. I suspect that the steak was not dried and salted prior to cooking, so don’t expect any crust and ensure to season at the table. The lunch special is worth it. Spent $100 and got 5 decent plates (3 oysters, salad, baked potato, cake, coffee). The atmosphere made up for the lack of depth in the food, and the service was impeccable. I’ll be back, perhaps to try their cigar lounge.

Great experience! Excellent food, ambiance and especially service! You pay for all the quality this restaurant offers! From opening doors, to pulling out my chair, providing warm hand cloths, to preparing the cesar salad in front of you.. all of it is 5 star! Will definitely be back!!!

We came as a group of 5 on Friday night and I have to say, the best part of our experience was our excellent server, Sammi. Made us feel welcome, was great with recommendations and he made sure to call over the sommelier for wine recommandations.
The food was great, the fact that the dining room was more intimate made for a even better, calm dinner.
My only “problem” was that the plates weren’t really hot so the food wasnt kept hot really long.

Would love to extend a special thanks to my great server Youssef for the lovely evening. I had my birthday supper this week at the rib and reef upon entering there must have been a confusion about my reservation so I had to wait a while for my table. However besides that all went super well appetizers were great the bread and pickles were a great addition to our meal. Eggplant parm was good and both of our steaks were cooked a perfect medium rare. To make things right Youssef offered us a complimentary dessert tray and coffee. That’s honestly a great way to treat customers and helped warm me over definitely will be back I feel like the service alone is great and so is the food and atmosphere.

Mandatory-valet, so if you do not like that, don’t go. Yet I’d recommend
Date night. My first time over on the east coast and my bf had to take me to this steakhouse. And they did not disappoint. I ordered filet mignonette, with lobster tail, mashed potatoes, steamed broccoli and asparagus for our sides. I usually order medium rare, but ordered medium and it was melt in my mouth perfection!
The bread they bring for the table, came with two big pickles (I love pickles) and fresh coleslaw. We also ordered fresh oysters and escargot! Everything about this place was amazing! I’d obviously go back when I’m here again and for sure recommend!!

We decided to check out this upscale steak house in Montreal, the Rib n Reef. All I can say about this place was that if you want the best service and atmosphere and the food is not the highest priority, prepare to open up your wallet and check this place out. The food was not to match the pricetag but maybe going here is not just about the food, but the experience. Hat’s off the the wait staff that serve here, they are the finest.

Filet mignon came medium well instead of medium rare. Bread was not really fresh. Monte Carlo potato was just warm enough to melt the whipped room temp butter. Salmon tartare was ok. Prime rib meat was not marbled so not really tender. Service was very good.

It’s usually so much better! We aren’t weekly regulars, more like three or four times a year, with the family, twice a year in a big group, but this was by far a surprising disappointment.
Went New Years Eve before the gala. The steaks across the board were tough and charred. Same atmosphere, same awesome service, great drinks, the bisque and wedge salad were all great.
But the filets, sirloin and rib steak were all tough. Overbooked? Rushed? New chef? I dunno, but the five of us spent 1200.00 for dinners. At over 100.00 per steak, it should have been better.
We won’t go back for a while.
The owner said he/she didn’t see my name on the reservation list but didn’t address my concerns.
That’s because the reservation was made by my partner, in her name.

Great food, I liked the seasoning on the tartare, delicious cesar salad and desserts. If you want a good restaurant and nice decor and ambiance and great food, this is the place for you. They deserve a 10/10. However, I do believe the prices are too high for what they offer, there are other good steakhouses with similar options and taste. But keep in mind it is high-end (valet, coat check, personalized experience, etc.) so I understand why some people would pay these prices.

I haven’t dined here in close to a decade but spend a lot of time at the upstairs cigar lounge when I am in town. The selection of alcohol is great and as long as you arrive early enough you’ll have ample space to sit. The staff upstairs go above and beyond and offer exceptional service. Very attentive to your needs even when the place is super busy. When I visit Montreal in the winter time and can’t smoke outside, I am quite often having a cigar there.
