Just an OK experience at Rib Country in Murphy NC… we wished that it would’ve been better. The fried okra was good. The fried green tomatoes didn’t taste like tomatoes because they were cut so thin, just tasted like fried batter.

· Baby Back Ribs: Falls off the bone, very tender and soft. Nicely smoked and juicy. My only complaint would be that it’s so small and mostly bones than meat

Food was terrific! Atmosphere was cozy! Service was super slow! We waited forever on our check and to go boxes. Literally 30 minutes or longer after we were finished and asked for our check and boxes. And it was on a Tuesday afternoon so it didn’t seem to be super super busy. However the food was fantastic.

We go try BBQ places all the time. Unfortunately, this is a 3 1/2 average place. The atmosphere is very live and the restaurant is clean. The staffs are nice. We ordered chicken, brisket, pulled pork, baby ribs, baked beans and coleslaw. The chicken was the best. The next is a pulled pork. Its a good place to drop by on the way your trip to somewhere. It could be a popular place for the locals. Not much stuffs are around.

My wife and I visited this spot while driving through Murphy and found it via search as we just wanted some BBQ and this place was right off the main highway.

I’d heard good things but was a bit disappointed. Chicken salad was good. Smoked chicken was not. Seems the use of liquid smoke is used or something on the cooking left a lot of residue in our mouths. After that, nothing tasted right. Maybe it was just that night.

It’s kinda like I paid alot of money to be treated like a peasant. The 4 person party that came in after me was treated like kings. Me,… I was treated as if they knew my financial status. My server sucked. She had to pass my table to get to there’s, and made sure they had everything they needed while letting my tea run BONE DRY. I’ll never step foot in there again. I guess I was supposed to use my straw to push my food down. It sure wasn’t for my drink, or lack of. This place sucks I was judged on sight for being a single person that wasn’t as worthy of service. Very expensive & Ive yet to figure out why. I hope they go bankrupt.

Renee our server was absolutely wonderful. Atmosphere was great also. Loved that the seating was spread out, with plenty of room to move around, and the booths were large and comfortable. Best lay out for seating I’ve seen. However the food left something to be desired. Main complaint is about the ribs. The ribs had little to NO meat at all, and what was there, was burnt. So our dinner was not worth the money, due to that, and the quality of other items. Baked potato tasted as it had been cooked ahead of time, and warmed up with cheese and bacon after. Onion rings were burnt. The jumbo shrimp were very good. If we were local, and they changed the ribs to ones with more meat, we would try again.

2 stars because the mac n was very good. Unfortunately I went in for a pulled pork sandwich, but I let her talk me into “domestic ribs”, as she said, and she described was like their baby backs but allot more meat. Well, I got the half rack. Only half of that was edible. So basically 4 ribs. The rest was so hard and dry I’m almost certain I was eating 2 day old leftover ribs. I was so disappointed I wanted so much to just tell her I wasn’t paying for the meat but I’d pay for the drink and 2 sides, but I didn’t, instead I decided lesson learned, don’t go back. Now I’m sure they wouldn’t want to be served food in that state and be expected to pay $24. Why expect customers to accept it? MC NASTY!

Ordered 1/2 rack ribs plate and one pound of pulled pork. The BBQ pork was very delicious. Arrived hot and without sauce . Only needed a lil Texas Pete and salt . (A few sauces were available if you enjoy the condiment.) The ribs were tasty, just prefer sauce on the side, so make that request when ordering. Didn’t care for their green beans or baked beans at all. Just my opinion. Staff were attentive and friendly. The restaurant was tidy. Uncomfortable wooden bench seating.
