We absolutely love eating at this place! The ribs have a great smoky taste and fall right off the bone. The homemade sides are wonderful. I especially love the loaded mashed potatoes and baked beans! Our favorite appetizer is the Triple Cheese Fries! YUMMY! You have to come try this place out if you haven’t already!

Hey guys…this is the place to eat. Ribs and a lot more. My first experience last week was incredible. All the ribs are cooked to perfection, great sauces on the table. The sides are very very good. Our waitress really understood customer service. I was very pleased with the total experience. Modest prices for the excellent quality of food.

Be sure and get there early if you can. We found no lines and plenty of seats at 530pm on a Friday.
If you have to wait for seating the staff will move you through quickly.

(New edit as of 8/12) This place changed their name and ownership, and we can tell. The meat seems to be cheaper, and therefore dry. This used to be our go to place for date night, but it looks like we will be moving on. I do like that they were playing blues music now though.

(Old review) We’ve eaten here many times. The food is a good price for what you get. I consider this a cheaper version of Texas Roadhouse. The food is great quality, and has always been made the way I asked. Even when they’re busy, they make sure every single person is taken care of.

I rated the decor as “good” just because there’s really nothing special about it. It’s in a strip mall, so that tells you a little about the space they’re working with.

My wife and I had dinner at Pig City and loved it! We got the ribs and they were absolutely delicious. The staff was friendly and courteous. Highly recommended!

Having lived in South Carolina for years, I know barbecue. This place is the real deal.

We’ve been here several times in the past few years. I haven’t yet had any menu item I thought was bad, but I normally get the BBQ pulled pork sandwich lunch menu.

This last week we used a Living Social deal to get ourselves a couple more expensive menu items we wouldn’t normally try. We got the 2-meat platter with turkey (pretty good) and ribs (still not my favorite ribs around but better than most). And then we got a plate of pulled pork (very good).

For the sides we tried the corn on the cob (good), coleslaw (average), beans (terrible), and baked potato (average… how can you mess up a potato?). The texas toast comes with every meal I believe and it’s pretty good.

We checked in on Foursquare after 7pm and unlocked a deal for a free side salad. Not sure if they always do it, but give it a try.

I could not get over the quality of the smoked meat. I mean, after all, is that not the main reason why you come to a barbeque place?

I had to ask why? I was not surprised to learn that they do not get their meats from the usual food service places. They import it from Norway, I think.

I liked the place for other reasons, too. The service was great, friendly. They gave me the impression they were happy for my business. You do not always get that!

The key lime pie was really good. I am guessing it was home made and not a food service purchase, it had that quality.

I received a gift card from work for this place and me and my wife decided to give it a try. We are both tough critics because I BBQ and smoke a lot of my own stuff which everyone loves so I was expecting some great food. I wanted to like it for those days I don’t feel like spending all day smoking my own food. But sadly I think I will stick to my own recipes.

We started with the cheese fries which were ok, but nothing to write home about. We both agree that Texas Roadhouse has the best cheese fries either of us have tasted to date.

My wife got a salad that wasn’t very fresh so she didn’t eat much of it.

We got our meals and my first thought was how small the half rack of baby back ribs were. When they say “Baby” back ribs, they really mean baby. Although me and my wife agreed that mine were way better, I don’t think they were that bad, I actually finished my wife’s half rack because she didn’t like them. I moved onto the 1/4 lb of pulled pork. I was not impressed. I also have a great recipe for this and my wife and boy ask for it because they eat it right up along with my homemade BBQ sauce.

My wife got the BBQ chicken along with the half rack of ribs with a side of beans, and the garlic bread and she was not impressed with anything. She did not finish anything.

Our waitress was really nice and gave us great service and at the end of the meal asked my wife if she didn’t like the chicken and offered to give her something else. She ended up bringing us out some burnt ends which were pretty good.

Overall, We weren’t sold on this place and will stick to my home bbq and smoked ribs and pulled pork.

Rib City is a great place to eat. I particularly recommend the bacon-cheese fries, the baby half-rack pork ribs and the hamburger. I’m an amateur chef and do some Q myself. I’ve eaten Q in the south, in Texas, etc. You have to know what you’re doing, timing and preparation are everything. These guys have a nice smoker in the back that uses wood (I’ve even seen it). As I’ve smoked too, I know how hard that is to get just right and my hat’s off to such a small place for doing great Q. Oh, and the staff is nice–they’re pleasant, responsive and have always treated me well.

I went for the first time yesterday. I’m impressed that they’re on Twitter and their marketing online. However, the food was ok, not a great value. My lunch was about $15 for a drink, ribs and key lime pie. It came with fries and coleslaw. The coleslaw was great. I’m afraid it wasn’t worth the lbs I put on for this meal though.

I only tried the key lime pie because of a blog post about how good it was. Cafe Rio is MUCH better. I mean TO DIE FOR.

Sorry but I’d stick to Smokehouse Pizza & BBQ — more choices and healthier.

Not only the worst bbq exp of my life, maybe the worst dining exp. of my life overall. The portions were tiny, right on down to the half full cups of nasty sauce they sent me with. And, a 1/4 of an ear of corn…really? My ribs were cold and tasted like they were cooked yesterday, maybe they were because they obviously aren’t smoking ribs in a strip mall building. I have two theories on how they’re able to get good reviews: One, their friends/family submit all the reviews. Two, they’ve convinced locals their stuff is of quality because there’s nothing around to compare it to. To the same affect, dogs probably aren’t excited about eating dog food for the first time, but it’s edible and they get used to it. In all seriousness, “Rib City” should take a field trip to an actual BBQ city and learn a few things.
