Food was delicious! All three items were enjoyable. We had the roasted duck and andouille sausage gumbo, blackened chicken & creole jambalaya, and duck empanadas. The gumbo didn’t have any hint of seafood flavor to it and was slightly sweet – I ended up trading dishes with my partner I loved it so much. The jambalaya was delicious, and the duck empanadas were slightly spicy and the dipping sauce was amazing and absolutely elevated the dish! The service was wonderful, and I loved the ambience of the place. It’s located right on Bourbon Street but the courtyard was peaceful and a nice break from the activity on the street. I highly recommend stopping by for dinner. There also was zero wait, and all the staff was pleasant to interact with and friendly.

We had a fantastic experience at Rex House! The staff was incredibly friendly and welcoming from the moment we walked in. Our server, Michelle, was perfect — attentive, knowledgeable, and offering great menu recommendations, all with that warm Southern smile that makes you feel right at home.
The Cajun Fried Alligator was perfectly fried and seasoned — crispy on the outside and tender inside, with amazing flavor. The Alligator Po’boy was just as impressive — generous portion, fresh, and absolutely delicious.
We finished with the Bourbon Street Beignets, and I highly recommend trying them with a side of hot caramel. It was the perfect ending to a great meal.
Highly recommend Rex House — we’ll definitely be back!

Traveling for a teacher’s conference with a group. We just happened to be walking by and menu looked like it had a little bit of everything for people in our group.
We were there around 3:00pm on a Thursday and there weren’t that many people in the restaurant yet. I imagine it’s packed at night.
We chose to sit in the courtyard and were quickly seated and given beverages. Someone in the group ordered some fried alligator. We tried and it was delicious.
I ordered a spicy hamburger and everyone else ordered something different. It seemed to me like everyone was pleased with their food and I thought my burger had a good taste. The fry portion wasn’t overly generous, as you can see in the picture. But the food was good, atmosphere was nice and the staff were all nice as well. Would recommend!

It was late, and we were making our way back to the hotel, and wanted to just sit and have a drink before calling it a night. After looking at the menu, we decided to order some food. Wow. The fried raviolis with jalapeños and cheddar were amazing. We also had the nachos, which were equally great. My brother had the soft shell poboy, and like the other dishes, were incredible. We ended up all sharing each others food. Knijeh was our server, and she was the best. We talked about local spots and had a small conversation. Overall this was not what we expected, but we will be back. I highly recommend.

Really good diverse menu – a little something for everyone. The two ladies that greeted and helped us were fantastic. Open, friendly and seemed genuine.
We chose a seat right by the windows to do some people watching but the little courtyard seating area is quieter. Low-key, chill place, decent prices. Not terribly busy at all even at noon on Halloween weekend.
Food was very good, atmosphere was good, but the service was exceptional and went above and beyond.

Got in late tonight so hopped onto Bourbon Street to find some dinner. Ran across Rex House Kitchen and decided to give it a try. We sat in the Courtyard and this was probably the night to sit next to a heater but unfortunately with the wait staff assignments none were available.
We had the fried shrimp platter and crab platters and bother were very good. Proportions were definitely enough to curb our appetite from a travel day. Wait staff were great and very attentive. Overall a great place to have a nice and quiet dinner away from the craziness of Bourbon Street.

First the customer service was amazing from the time we walked in to the time we left. We ordered the fried gator bites (came with seasoned potato wedges…also good), shrimp po boy sandwich and the sampler platter. Everything was made fresh, had good flavor and filling. Highly recommend!!!! Y’all see how big that sandwich was though!!!

This was by far the best experience we had on our New Orleans trip. The food was phenomenal. I very rarely finish a meal at restaurants because I just don’t eat that much, even when it’s good. That being said, this food was so good, I had to keep eating, well past being full, to finish the plate. The boiled eggs were perfect. The biscuits and gravy were perfect, the jambalaya was perfect. The service was perfect. This place is amazing. Compliments to the chefs.

We enjoyed this place so much we ate here twice in three days. Exceptional customer service and delicious food. The menu is small but that’s how a restaurant is able to focus on making delicious food every time. The crab cake pasta is incredible because of the house made Alfredo sauce I love battered onion rings which they should just add to the appetizer menu…. please lol
I’m looking forward to going back.

As far as food on Bourbon street goes, this definitely isn’t a bad option. I liked the courtyard ambiance, I don’t know if I would have liked the inside as much.
The service was definitely rocky- our waitress was training so I understand, we just waited a while to even get water.
I got gator bites to start, I thought they were pretty good. The drinks were okay but very sweet. Got the red beans and rice, which was all over the place. The hush puppies and beans were both amazing, but my rice was crunchy and the fried chicken was just okay.
