I ate here one of the nights that I stayed at the Mag mile Marriott. The food was pretty good for hotel bar food and the service was great.

Nice space with a classic, comfortable vibe, but the experience felt just average overall. Drinks were fine, the atmosphere was decent, and it’s a pleasant place to stop, but nothing stood out or felt especially memorable. Good for a casual drink if you’re nearby, but not a place you go out of your way to visit.

Came here for pre dinner drinks and can say that they did NOT disappoint! Me and my friends had a great time. We go two different old fashioned’s and an espresso martini and they were all fantastic. I was in town visiting, but I’ll h back next time 🙂

This restaurant is in the Marriott downtown. Since we were staying here and another restaurant let us down, we tried it out. Nothing special here, and I am not sure they were ready to open yet. The service was short staffed, Ula helped us out, but she was running her tail off and was very friendly.
We ordered the cheese quesadilla which comes on a spinach tortilla, side of sour cream and salsa which they were out of. It was ok, not a bad choice for a bar.
Also, ordered the herb roasted chicken. This comes with green beans, has brown cut potatoes and a side of chicken jus. The chicken itself was very dry and the 2 pieces I received were tiny. The green beans were unseasoned, and the potatoes were average.
Drinks were okay, my wife wanted sugar on the rim, which she forgot the second time and was just a shock to get salt. I ordered the daiquiri drink, which I expected to be frozen or over ice, but it came in a round tall glass with an orange peel, caramel colored, and just 1 was good enough for me. Switched to a rum and coke.
They have many drinks to offer, and many local and national beers. Stop in for a drink or a burger if you’re staying here.

Busted Thumb Critique
Margarita pizza was bitter and hard to swallow. The harshness of the tomato basil paste was enough to make me cough through the napkin. Edible, but not recommended.

I’m glad I didn’t let the bad reviews deter me. Grand Lux had a 2.5 hour wait…absolutely not.
The staff here were attentive. The drinks were good. We were able to get eat… not an extensive menu but ordered a few items and left full. Tab was pricey but to be expected in a downtown Chicago bar on the Magnificent Mile. The lobby bar has plenty of seating. The tv sports were going…Congrats Florida State on the win.

This is the lobby bar inside the Chicago Marriott Downtown Magnificent Mile… the bar and lounge area are quite large and can handle many patrons. Both nights I stayed here, this place was packed. Service was decent. They have a decent wine list as well as all the typical spirits. Nice place to grab a glass while discussing dinner plans.
