Happen to be working on the William and Mary building right across the street from this place. So,I figured I would give it a try. Really glad I did to, because the bbq hotdog is top notch. They also have handcut fries and home made lemonade, which I really enjoyed. Glad I found this place. Will be eating here alot over the next few months and looking forward to it.

Food was delicious! Burgers, fries and onion rings were all very good!
My son had the chicken nuggets and normally have to fight with him to eat new chicken nuggets and he ate them without a fight.
Someone here said the crab cakes were delicious as well.
A little pricey but what isn’t these days.
Definitely recommend!

Five stars! The lamb burger here is absolutely amazing. It’s the kind of flavor that makes you want to travel miles just to have it again. The tenderness of the meat, the perfect balance of spices, and the freshness of the bun all come together beautifully. I’ve never had anything like it before — highly recommended!

Diner style. Best prices in Colonial Williamsburg. Be aware everything priced individually. Fries worth the price. All fries should be made this way. Steak sandwich was excellent.

Best hot dogs you can find anywhere. I am writing this because some magazine or media outlet just said Retro’s has the best hot dogs in Williamsburg. True. The article listed the best hot dogs by 10 major areas in Virginia. I’d had hot dogs at half the places listed and Retros was better than all of them. I think they might have the best hot dog in Virginia. And don’t forget to buy a hand squeezed carbonated lime aid with your dog. Sublime.

Love this place! Delicious food and kind service. The burgers are great and they have all the traditional deserts I miss like old fashioned floats and funnel cake fries! So good

Another recommendation from my favorite Aunt and Uncle! Retro’s Good Eats is in Market Square in Colonial Williamsburg. Don’t walk by, go in… Check out all the options on the wall menu at this casual locally owned eatery! I believe the manager took our order! He was so friendly in an easy going kinda way. You just had to like him. He took our lunch order, 2 Caesar salads, and a crab cake lunch. The salads were fresh, large, and had plenty of crunchy croutons.
Now let me tell you about the crab cake sandwich. OMGoodness… light, tender, and filled with . Covered with a crispy coating. Served with lettuce, tomato, and a nice spicy sauce on a brioche roll. Fresh fries on the side, and fresh squeezed lemonade. So good. Both my Aunt and I went and raved to different employees about how wonderful I thought they were. My Aunt was told by one of them that the manager ONLY makes 20 of them a day. RUN there tomorrow to get yourself one! It will be worth it. If you like crab cakes, you should not miss this one. Exceptional! If I get a chance to go back this trip, I’m going to try the fried mac and cheese bites. I hear they are to die for too. Service was very fast. Only one concern, the tines of 2 forks broke while eating salads. There is no need to change the star rating, but different forks are needed.

What an incredibly disappointing meal. I’ve walked past retros plenty of times and made a mental note to walk in and try this place. Parking is atrocious, but it’s like that for every business in vicinity so I won’t hold that against them.
The food was actually not too bad, but the portions were not sufficient for the price. Two hot dogs with toppings, two lemonades and a side of fries and a side of onion rings cost me 43 dollars!
Plenty of signage in the restaurant indicating they had fresh lemonade, when in fact they just served me two cups of tap water with a few slices of lemon in each. To get good hot dogs at a great price, go about twenty minutes east to hot dog king.

I ordered the Retro Burger, Limeade, and side of fries, which came to be a total of roughly $27 for takeout. The burger meat and bacon was of good portion size, but was bland. The fries were pretty good, though. The limeade was iffy because while it did not taste bad, it was not favorable sweet – it tasted like generic lemon juice with a hint of limeade – similar to what I buy from Walmart. Overall, I could forgive the all the aforementioned critics if it were not for the insane price.

The cashier who served me was not very outgoing or friendly, but not rude either.
