I searched online for Mexican food spots near me and came across La Oaxaqueña, which had great reviews. I had never been there before, so I can’t compare it to what it may have been like before the transition, but the reviews were pretty spot on.
I ordered a burrito and decided to eat at the restaurant. They brought out homemade chips with three different salsas, including one that I could only describe as having a really rich, savory flavor. My burrito came shortly after. I got it with carne asada, which was seasoned differently than at other places and really made it stand out.
Honestly, I was so hungry that I played it safe with my order, but next time I am definitely going to try one of the platters. The horchata also tasted homemade, not the kind made from a mix that a lot of other spots use, though I do not totally mind those either.
It is a family run place and everyone was very friendly. There was music playing, which I like, but it was not blaring. The restaurant was clean, nicely decorated, and the prices were very reasonable. It is also a pretty big space, so I imagine they might rent out the other side of the restaurant since it is somewhat divided.
Overall, definitely check this place out. You will not be disappointed. No photos because I ate it pretty quickly .

I can say, this place doesn’t lose its touch, even before becoming La Viña, delicious, very good flavor, will order again. I will say it again, Great Food, fast service and very reasonable prices. This location needs to thrive as Oaxaqueña did. I will miss the Sopa Azteca, but everything else is good!!
