I had the wrap and it was PERFECTLY made and cooked and just the right portion. The chicken was warm and the ranch dressing is better than anything I’ve had in the US.
For drink I got the chai tea. It was a perfect temperature, sweetness, and texture. Great for a cloudy day.
José Martín was our server, good guy and speaks a good amount of English as well but was happy to help us practice Spanish.
The menu and selection was exciting. Way too many great choices for breakfast which was why we were there.
We ended up getting the tamales and the Nutella crepe.
First we ordered drinks. Black Americano and the cappuccino rammapopo. The cappuccino was beautiful to look at and was also a great drink. They gave us some cut up fruit gratis to start.
The tamales came in a set of two. One was chicken in a corn husk which was nice and hit the spot. The other in a banana leaf seemed like a breakfast chicken mole. Both were enjoyable. As I am not a tamal connoisseur, I won’t expound in their ranking as far as how great they were.
Now my daughter who got the Nutella crepes went nuts over them. They came with chocolate cookies on top, like a twix bar but better for breakfast.
But as much as she liked her crepes , she loved the mole tamal and finished half of mine.
Staff was friendly and competent. Jose Martin, our waiter had a great sarcastic sense of humor that we just loved.
I tell you, I’m not a fan of places that seem too focused on tourists, but even though this place was on the square, I didn’t get that feeling. In fact, I quite liked it and enjoyed the environment on the square. If I was staying longer I would love to come back as they has so many great looking things on the menu. I liked that the menu has tons of pictures which made choosing even more difficult.
If you like relaxing and people watching and great food, I would definitely include this on your list of restaurants.
Also from another review, it seems custom for waiters and tour operators to ask for a tip especially when filling out the credit card machine or to let diners or customers know a tip is not included. I was once a waiter (it’s terrible but we called people who did not tip back then, Canadians, and from that review it is funny, the person was from Canada) and given the numbers coming to Mexico from places that don’t tip customarily, I can’t blame waiters for asking. Getting upset and punishing a person for doing what they always do only makes you look bad and waiters weary of others from your country. Do like my parents taught me and be a good traveler and respect others customs.
We were a table of 30 people and he was alone! Great service!
