What a find! I love finding little unassuming places like this with awesome food and thirst quenching drinks. Located in the “Poblado de Aguirre”, a small autonomous town created to house the Aguirre Sugar Mill workforce at the end of the 1800’s, it survived the transition from sugar mill to a power plant town that still stands in the same area. Call us lucky, but at least that afternoon, we had a super delicious platter of the chicharron de pollo and fish nuggets with tostones to die for. The main dishes consisted of mofongo relleno de mariscos (shrimp, octopus and conch) and a mini mofongo relleno de churrasco (skirt steak). Chilled Medallas and a shot of Don Q Coco in the rocks “pa pisar” rounded the lunch. If you are visiting the El Legado Golf Club and the power plant, don’t miss this place!

We stopped here for a birthday lunch and wow! The service was super friendly. Our server, Monique was so helpful, pleasant, and attentive. We were a group of 5 and ordered vegetable mofongo, shrimp mofongo, the pasta special of the day, an empanadillas, tostones, and a chicken burger with bacon and fries that looked like it came from a gastropub. It was so good, the birthday gal ordered 2 addl empanadillas to go for another meal at home!
When Monique learned it was a birthday, she even brought out a beautiful complimentary flan, which she had made! Everything was delightful and delicious. And the prices are much more reasonable than many of the “tourist towns”.
Aguirre has a unique history and many historic buildings are scattered throughout the town. Stop for lunch or dinner and walk around and the nature trails and center are great (and free).

I ordered a Salmon with a supposedly a “Mofongo al ajillo” and a Salad. Mofongo happened to be a ” Mangú al ajillo ” which I was disapointed with. My cousin ordered a ” Mar y Tierra ” a Surf and Turf plate with Arroz Mamposteado and came with a Salad. Churrasco and Seafood came of of seasoning and the only thing was excellent was the Mamposteado Rice. Waitress came to us once we asked for drinks and never came back to ask if we need anything.
Overall … poor service and I didn’t like the food at all just the rice.

Very nice place with good food. Locals like it very much. Open everyday. Has outdoor seating with view to the bay and a nice breeze. Rustic ambiance.

my friend and I ordered lobsters, when I started eating it I noticed a strange taste, I had never tasted a spoiled lobster so I researched it and I found out that the ammonia taste meant it was not apt to eat. I told the waitress and he kindly offered me something else. I had a good fish franchua which I think had cheddar cheese- it tasted good anyway. Drinks were very good but when the check came they charged part of the spoiled lobster. Well that’s the first and last time i’ll be there. I cannot recommend the place.
