I had a wonderful experience at Shalimar Indian Restaurant in Bremen. The atmosphere was warm, cozy, and very inviting, making it a perfect place to relax and enjoy a meal.

The food was absolutely delicious, full of authentic Indian flavors and beautifully prepared. Every dish tasted fresh and perfectly seasoned. You can really tell they care about quality.

The service was excellent as well. The staff were friendly, attentive, and made us feel very welcome. On top of that, the prices were very reasonable for the quality and portion sizes.

I highly recommend Shalimar Indian Restaurant to anyone looking for great Indian food in Bremen. I will definitely be coming back again!

We experienced a considerable wait time for our food, exceeding 45 minutes.

The curries, unfortunately, lacked authenticity and shared a similar flavor profile.

We noticed a disparity in the welcome extended to Indian guests compared to others, specifically regarding the complimentary papadam and chutney typically offered at other establishments.

The portion sizes were rather small, especially considering the high cost.

Overall, we would not recommend this establishment.

We will certainly share our experience with other restaurants.

As first-time visitors, we found the food to be more expensive than at comparable restaurants. To assess the quality, we initially placed a half order. As we were not satisfied with the food, we chose not to order a second round. We also ordered five drinks. If your service is contingent on drink orders, we kindly suggest including this information on your menu. It is worth noting that not everyone wishes to order a drink, and it is not a prerequisite for dining. Having visited over 15 restaurants, we have never been denied onions, and if it is considered a salad item, it should be listed on the menu. We were asked to pay 5 euros for a plate of sliced onions, which we found to be an unreasonable price.

It is a not your restaurant

The service was terrible. We ordered Chicken jalferazi and they brought the lamb jelferazi. When we told them, They reluctantly changed it. But at the end, they charged us more which was the price for lamb. Also, we didn’t order nan, and they charged us again. Check your receipt, they are not trusted!!!! Can not recommend. The food also was very spoiled

While in Bremen for the New Balance store opening, my team and I explored different international cuisines, as we had colleagues from various countries. One evening, we decided to go for Indian food.

We chose Shalimar, and it turned out to be a great decision. The food was truly authentic—richly spiced, perfectly balanced, and full of depth. It genuinely tasted like 100% real Indian cuisine, and everyone on the team loved it. The only downside I noticed was that the prices were a bit on the higher side.

This is by far the best Indian restaurant I have been to. Our wedding anniversary was on the 9th of September, I and my husband decided to satisfy our cravings for Indian food. Choosing this restaurant was the best decision we made on that day. The food was amazingly delicious. The people were so friendly and welcoming. The food wasn’t expensive. We had 3 main dishes and 2 mango lassis for just 55 euros. They gave us free drinks (a shot and a home made drink), they played love songs for us, and they gave us a flower. They made our day. Anytime we visit Bremen again, we would definitely be visiting this lovely restaurant.

We visited Shalimar for the first time and we only have positive impressions! Atmosphere is very cozy, service is fast, waiters are very friendly. The food is very tasty and the portions are large. We will definitely visit again!

Visited again 3 times and all is as described in my first review! Went with different people every time and everyone was very happy and pleased for my recommendation!

Nice restaurant in the town..food was good and they made it spicy as we requested. Unfortunately, mix pakoda was not good but everything else was fine. Also, first day they offered paped and chutney to all and second day they only offered it two person and not three.

Dinner on a weekday evening was surprisingly busy! The staff allowed us to bring our small dog in so it’s pet/ dog friendly. Our starters were simple but delicious, the main course was disappointing (paneer masala was sweet) but I’ve had similar experiences of getting sweet food/ main courses elsewhere in Germany (except Berlin) so guessing it’s tailored to local taste. Getting our food served took over an hour, and they seemed understaffed with only 2 servers looking after over 50 guests. Portion sizes were good, we couldn’t finish everything so endes up taking rest home. Oh, and they only accept cash (some of the other reviews also say this) so remember to take cash since finding you an open ATM nearby can easily take 10-15 minutes.
