Reviews
The food was absolutely delicious, full of authentic Indian flavors and beautifully prepared. Every dish tasted fresh and perfectly seasoned. You can really tell they care about quality.
The service was excellent as well. The staff were friendly, attentive, and made us feel very welcome. On top of that, the prices were very reasonable for the quality and portion sizes.
I highly recommend Shalimar Indian Restaurant to anyone looking for great Indian food in Bremen. I will definitely be coming back again!
The curries, unfortunately, lacked authenticity and shared a similar flavor profile.
We noticed a disparity in the welcome extended to Indian guests compared to others, specifically regarding the complimentary papadam and chutney typically offered at other establishments.
The portion sizes were rather small, especially considering the high cost.
Overall, we would not recommend this establishment.
We will certainly share our experience with other restaurants.
As first-time visitors, we found the food to be more expensive than at comparable restaurants. To assess the quality, we initially placed a half order. As we were not satisfied with the food, we chose not to order a second round. We also ordered five drinks. If your service is contingent on drink orders, we kindly suggest including this information on your menu. It is worth noting that not everyone wishes to order a drink, and it is not a prerequisite for dining. Having visited over 15 restaurants, we have never been denied onions, and if it is considered a salad item, it should be listed on the menu. We were asked to pay 5 euros for a plate of sliced onions, which we found to be an unreasonable price.
It is a not your restaurant
We chose Shalimar, and it turned out to be a great decision. The food was truly authentic—richly spiced, perfectly balanced, and full of depth. It genuinely tasted like 100% real Indian cuisine, and everyone on the team loved it. The only downside I noticed was that the prices were a bit on the higher side.
Visited again 3 times and all is as described in my first review! Went with different people every time and everyone was very happy and pleased for my recommendation!
