I would say it was an average experience at Lucca. The restaurant is definitely popular and the food was great. I think our experience was sour because of the service. Our server kept on taking the menu away which made us wait to order the next dish. We liked their eggplant, prosciutto was really crispy and flavorful. They also have a huge wine selection and the cocktails are pretty strong.
We sat outside on the patio and enjoyed Thanksgiving fireworks. At the end the chef sent a nice chocolate dessert which was a nice touch.
Overall a nice experience which got a little sour because of the service.

Elegant dining atmosphere – the restaurant has the largest wine cellar in Cabo. The food is tasty and the portions were not too large.
Our waiter, Christian, was especially attentive to my preferences – he noticed that I liked the confit garlic and proactively brought out extras for me. Christian also made awesome suggestions for the menu items.

though we did not stay at Grand Velas reserved dinner to celebrate a special birthday. Lucca is a very classy place, service was very friendly. we opted for seating out in their large patio. did not have much view as it was night time. service was prompt and food was very good. they also sang for a few guests celebrating birthdays. the only one thing that derailed the special occasion were the lizards in the corner of the patio area. our table was very close. The lizards started moving towards out table only almost to the end. we moved tables to complete our dessert. lizards are common to the region not surprised but did not expect at such a classy dinning place. all said it is a great experience dinning but pick the right seating and enjoy.

The dinner we had at Luca was just incredible. You couldn’t have a nicer setting. We were not staying at the resort but the hostess accommodated us and gave us a really nice table. “All” the food was just perfect. Especially the gnocchi, it was perfect. I thought it was the best meal we had in Cabo. Don’t miss it if you love Italian food. It is difficult to make reservations but it is worthwhile calling the resort.

The food. The service. And the sheer kindness of the staff. Our server Salvador Suazo is honestly the best of the best. His recommendations were on point. The food came out fast and was incredible. We then met Fergie who checked on us to see how our service was. Then the chef personally came out to greet us. Checked on the food and service. Brought out a special chocolate that could only be defined as luxurious. Felt so looked after and taken care of. Would come here again and again.

We had dinner at Luca on October 16th. Our previous experience at the restaurant in May was fabulous. The time was terrible. The outside dining was uncomfortable as the heat and humidity made dining outside uncomfortable. The hostess brought us to a nice table inside and what a mistake. There were a few children in the restaurant and with the acoustics in the restaurant you couldn’t hear yourself think! A few other couples left because of the noise. The food which had been so good in May was pedestrian at best. We had their version of a tomato and burrata salad had all the tomatoes chopped up like a salsa and two halves of a cherry tomato. One of the worst renditions of that salad I have ever experienced. My wife had the stuffed raviolis and they were inedible, under cooked (not al dente) and hard and a tomato sauce that tasted like it came from a can. My gnocchi and shrimp dish was good but the service and atmosphere made enjoying my meal impossible. The manager Daniel came to our table and we expressed our concerns, instead of apologizing for the dinners shortcoming he suggested next time we try a different restaurant in the Grand Velas resort. We had considered bringing our extended stay at the resort next fall but after this last experience, we will not be back.

Beautiful Italian restaurant with great past and pizza options. I loved the Il Padrino cocktail with scotch. We enjoyed this restaurant as part of the all-inclusive package with the Velas resort. It was well worth it.
