After arriving in Amboise we learned from our VRBO host that we were “lucky to get a reservation at Les Arpents as they are difficult to come by.” We had booked our table months in advance and were looking forward to the experience, which did not disappoint. We were greeted warmly and offered a table in the cozy front dining room, which features a collection of wine bottles and a small bar. With only three tables and a view out the front window, we felt as though we had the restaurant mostly to ourselves. (There is a larger dining room in the back, which became louder as the night went on.) Service was prompt and efficient, but not rushed. Each dish was superbly prepared, exquisitely presented, and offered wonderful flavors. The wine recommendations were spot on. If you are planning a stay in Amboise, be sure to book Les Arpents well in advance. You’ll be glad you did!

This was BY FAR our absolute favorite meal in Amboise and perhaps even our entire trip to France. They have a 3-course and 5-course prix-fixe menu option; we selected the 3-course and were very satisfied by our choice. The menu was a mystery. We only needed to indicate if we wanted meat or fish for the main course. Note that each of the courses (even the meat and fish courses) are totally different between the 3 and 5-course menus so the 5-course menu had different fish and meat dishes (as well as the other courses) than what we were to receive.

We began with tomato biscuits with cremeaux of zucchini, coriander, and lemon. They were delightful! Next, we received another amuse bouche, which was broccoli mousse with peach and celery (sounds a bit odd but it was delicious!).

Our official first course of the three came next. This was maybe my favorite course–white beans with red pepper gelee, chorizo sauce, sweet pepper sauce, fried chorizo, and pickled mustard seeds. I was really impressed by the variety of flavors and textures and everything just went so well together. I love beans and this was such a gorgeous way to elevate them.

This fish course for our menu was a Merlu fillet (a type of European hake) with different textures of tomato, served with basil sabayon. This was another home run. I loved the fish. It was cooked perfectly, and the tomato and basil flavors were subtle yet perfectly complemented the fish. Keep in mind our meal was in August 2025 so these ingredients were in season at the time.

For dessert we had two different desserts between the two of us: lemon tart and “the prince with fig tree.” Both were really beautifully presented and delicious.

Service was also excellent. Every single member of staff who came to our table, from the server to all the food runners, asked us if we prefer English or French and then spoke to us in that language to explain the dishes. I really appreciated this and noticed they asked the same question to every single table. That to me really highlighted that they were intentional and placed importance on ensuring each customer had the best experience they could and fully understood what they were eating.

I would absolutely recommend Les Arpents to anyone visiting Amboise, and I hope I have the opportunity to visit again someday. It was a really highlight of this trip.

It was a wonderful experience. As a vegetarian visiting a small city in France, I was initially worried my dietary needs wouldn’t be accommodated—but they were! The service was warm, the food was exquisite, and we truly enjoyed our time there. Just be sure to reserve in advance.

Warm welcome, attentive service, and tasteful décor. We chose the 3-course mystery dinner (fish & meat) — every dish was a delight, and the deconstructed lemon pie dessert was outstanding. Champagne and local white paired perfectly. Highly recommend if you are in Amboise

What a wonderful lunch. We arrived at 1:35 pm and thought they might turn us away as they close at 2 pm. However, we were welcomed in to a center table and the dining room was near full.

We had a little trouble understanding the menu options, but decided to just “go for it” and chose the plate of the day options. An egg with asparagus appetizer followed by a main dish of pork tenderloin. Everything was fabulous. Then a trio of desserts arrived. Tres yummy! We finished with gourmet espresso. Not sure what made it “gourmet” but it was certainly good. Service was quick and efficient, but you better be ready to listen closely if you are an English speaker. We would certainly return here if given the opportunity.

We came here to tour the town and was pleasantly surprised by this cozy place.

The set menu is what we got (menu included). It came with the appetizer, main dish, and dessert + coffee. (26 €) Everything was spot on. Delicious & the presentation was superb

I will definitely visit again when I come to visit next time.

We went here for lunch with our two teenagers – one a vegetarian, the other a fussy meat eater – and when Jerome told us that it was a tasting menu with no choices I was a little nervous. But I should not have been. We all agreed that it was one of the best meals we have had out as a family. And honestly for the price, it was really great value too.

We all went for the 3 course option. My daughter had the vegetarian menu, which she loved (artichoke and eggplant)! My son the meat (perfectly cooked beef), amazingly he ate every bite of every course, we had the fish (pollack). I went with their wine recommendations, a different glass with everyone course), and we all were very happy with our choices.

Jerome, ably supported by David, provided patient, high quality service, and while there were no tables in the garden, our table was just perfect considering the kids wish to avoid sun.

All in all a gem of a restaurant – I would highly recommend it as a reasonable priced, high end, venue where food surprises are all delicious!

Brilliant cuisine, complex flavors, interesting combination of seasonal and exotic ingredients, and attractive platings. All the dishes tasted as good as they looked. Substantial without being overly heavy. Had the 3-course tasting menu. Good value considering the exceptional quality. Biggest delight: the homemade butter with tonka bean!

Ambiance in the back room a bit of a letdown, rather sterile and with jarring, classic Rock background music. Direct and efficient bilingual service.

We did the 3-course tasting menu and chose the fish option. Not being able to at all choose your food is a little unnerving, but this meal did not disappoint. They were able to accommodate and make the appetizer without meat as well which was great. The overall meal was excellent.
