When in Granville don’t miss visiting Ponton Restaurant. Absolutely a 10 dining experience beginning with the friendly greeting by the owner, the warm ambience (on what was a very cold winter day), to the very friendly server, to the perfectly presented mist delicious good! I’ve NEVER had pomme de terre purée (mashed potatoes) served as steaming hot as the ones on my plate! Perfect and delicious! Thank you to the management and staff who made our visit an exceptional dining experience!

A lovely little find in the harbour.
Here’s what I liked:
• Good service
• Nicely spaced tables
• Good, busy atmosphere
• Reasonably good food
• Soup de poisson was really good.
What I didn’t like:
• Disappointing fries
• Expensive for what it was. I’d have happily paid this if the food was better.
• Seafood risotto was overcooked
Do I recommend going? YES (Not much else!)
Will I go again? NO
Was it good value? NO

If you are not French or You are biker… please avoid this place like a plague.
We been told restaurant is closed. Not open yet…. but inside and on patio was lots of customers. They don’t want ours inside because we are grup of 11 bikers.
But we go to Casino, spent few hounded euro for drinks and staff was amazing and helpful.
Shame on You . Because someone don’t wear suits this not mean is poor or aggressive.

completely not recommend we been with group 10 bikers from UK, empty restaurant only few tables with clients, but they said restaurant is closed , when isn’t. We gone to casino restaurant not far away and left good few hundreds Euro.

What a lovely clean restaurant.The staff are really pleasant and helpful. The meal was good, dessert was great. After a very hot day on the boat it was really a treat.

Very friendly- cosy atmosphere. The fish soup starter was delicious, the main – Sole Meunière- less so. Quality was good and fish was fresh, however it seemed boiled , not panfried. The vegetables were sad looking- and with Meunière you don’t need anything but a little bit of fresh salad next to a lovely in butter panfried fish.

As a big enthousiaste of “Magret de canard rosé”, I ordered it (even though the restaurant is known for the fish and seafood dishes), to my surprise it wasn’t served with any sweet sauce which I found disappointing at first (because I like it with something sweet as a side), but then, I took the first bite , and oh my god the tenderness , the juciness and the taste of the meat was (and I can’t stress this enough) “Perfection”. And the effect kept going within each bit, I enjoyed it yo the last one.
I finished my order with a cup of “Damme Blanche” and the ice cream was quite good too, especially with the chocolate.
Just a tip: try to add a sweet sauce as a side , like fig sauce or honey mustard, it will be excellent with the duck, it will go better than the sauce poivre that I ordered or the two other salty sauces that you offer as a side .
