This was undoubtedly the worst restaurant meal I’ve ever had.
We made the mistake of not checking reviews and went for the three-course menu. Between three people, we tried every dish. Only the pissaladière was decent, everything else was a disaster.
The Daube Niçoise, a classic beef stew that’s supposed to be rich and comforting, tasted like someone spilled a bottle of cheap wine into the pot, panicked, and sent it out anyway. The sauce was oily, sour, and hard to eat (and by hard to eat I mean it literally made me nauseous). To top it off, I found a short black hair in it and I didn’t even want to tell the waiter as I did not want them to bring me a new one.
We asked for the steak well done. It came medium rare, chewy, and totally flavorless. The cod was bland and forgettable, but honestly, that was the least offensive thing on the table.
They could offer this food for free and I would still rather eat sawdust.
Do yourself a favor and eat literally anywhere else.

La Claire Fountain is an excellent restaurant. The pizza is outstanding delicious, fresh, and perfectly prepared. The atmosphere is very pleasant and inviting, making it a great place to enjoy a meal. Highly recommended!

I always return to La Claire Fontaine for the sun and moon — for the beautiful atmosphere by the fountain and the pleasant, professional service. Every time I come back, it’s with joy.
For people with very high expectations, there’s always Monte Carlo — but here, we create positive vibes with decent service and a relaxed spirit that feels genuinely Nice. The food could be improved, but that’s a matter of business direction.
Still, this place has a charm that keeps me coming back.

Don’t get the 3 course set menu it was quite bad. well the steak frites were very chewy and grisly. The salad and the apple cake was good tho. Don’t trust the 5 star reviews as they gave u a free shot if u gave it 5 stars!

The food was ok , but after we finished the meal Pizza , the bill was at 57,70 Euros i told the waiter to charge 63,- Euros to be nice
Then he charged me 63,70 and when i asked for the receipt he tried to make joke and would not give it to me , but he give it to my wife and get fast back to the kitchen. Thats why i rate them 1 ⭐️ this is not ok , for me it’s not for the money it’s about decent behavior.

Fast service and the steak frites was absolutely delicious. Mushroom sauce was especially tasty, I came back to eat here twice more during my time in Nice.
Their 3 course meal deal is also good value.

Came here hungover for very late breakfast one day. We missed breakfast, so both ordered a ham and cheese toastie.
We were sat in the outdoor part in the centre of the square, and it started lashing rain. The sandwiches were not very good, basic ham and cheese but they had some sauce on top that made it sour and we didn’t enjoy them. We ordered crepes, which were fine just basic crepes.
The food is fine, but it took us about an hour to get the bill and leave. I don’t fully blame the restaurant, as it was raining, and we weren’t wanting to walk in, we were happy enough to sit waiting, but it was incredibly slow despite. The waiter was a lovely woman, but I think we were there for 2 hours for a sandwich and crepe.

The food was great, they have huge portions of fresh seafood! The wine was good, prices for the quality was worth it. I was driving and don’t speak French but they were really nice. I recommend
