I posted my review on yelp but wanted to share my experience on here.. it was a perfect night for us! First we were greeted by the manager who was absolutely fantastic, she took us to our table which was by the fireplace and then promptly got us water and bread. She also recommended us drinks which we got and loved. We then asked her opinion on food which she gave plenty but we went with her recommendation pepper steak and a pasta. Everything came out in a good time and the food was amazing. We walked away from this restaurant and talked every since!

This place was disappointing. We came in on a Thursday night for my birthday and were very underwhelmed. The restaurant was nearly empty and the front dining space was being used as storage. There were so many boxes lined up in the entry that we almost thought they were closed. We sat by the fireplace, which was no longer lit and was puffing out smoke the entire time. Despite there being a lot of staff on hand, no one ever put another log on or addressed the fireplace the whole time we were there. Since there were not a lot of people dining, the staff and kitchen was rather loud which was distracting. It almost felt like we were inconveniencing the staff by being there. Not only was the ambiance less than appealing, I ordered a warm cocktail that was cold by the time they brought it to me. Instead of staying for a full meal we decided to just have our cocktails and an app and leave to dine at another restaurant. We ended up at Cafe Aroma which was a much better experience.

I had not been in a while, but I am always amazed that for a place “away” from a bigger population how great the food is! This time we loved the French Onion soup, the Rack of Lamb and the Surf and Turf, delicious! I have loved anything I ordered and the one time an issue arose it was taken care of quickly and no hassle. I splurged this time, but there are a wide range of options here. Worth stopping for any great occasion!

Been here twice in the last few days, first we had Thanksgiving dinner here and then we came back for the regular menu. Our waitress was both times Krystel, she is such a lovely sweetheart and the ambiente is just lovely, there is so much to look at and love to detail, including a massive fireplace that spend warmth. The food was definitely down to earth fresh cooked food done with passion. This is absolutely what I expect from a mountain town loke this and is the best place we found up here by far. Definitiv will recommend it highly and come back as well! You can tell when staff is working well together and people are with their heart at work. It’s honest food and delicious! I don’t mind waiting for something cook fresh! Thank you so much for this lovely experience!

This restaurant is right off the man loop in Idyllwild. They have good views of the town with indoor and outdoor seating. The food was good. $15-20 for a meal. Fresh bread was good. Our main issue was the service. We were left at our table for long stretches. It was like they were so focused on cleaning that they forgot about the customers they were serving. We had been here before and today the vibe was off. Good food but service needs to improve.

Took a really long time to get our food. A bit overpriced. My friend’s mashed potatoes were under seasoned and extra sauce cost $5. The burger was good tho. Portions were good sized. There could have been more gnomes. We liked the ones that were there.

Good service, tasty food, and a spectacular view. We shared French Onion soup, spicy edamame, and for our main courses an Alfredo pasta and a pork belly dish. Everything was delicious.

So guys I am not a restaurant critic, but just a regular person who informs you that this place is very tasty and cozy. My family and I came here two years ago and today. I ordered the steak and it was mild and delicious. My daughter loved the pasta with chicken. The portions are huge and the staff is nice. We were taken care of and the dinner was great!

Had dinner on a Thursday, early evening.
We got sitted right away in the outside patio area. The weather was nice and comfortable. We got greeted by staff which were very friendly. They took out order of drinks. Then our food order. Asked for a few appetizers which they brought out right away, except for the bread that the server said as we were being sitted that he’ll bring out. Still no bread after asking for it again.
Food was brought out and it looked and tasted delicious.
Still no bread..
Finally halfway through our meal the bread finally decided to join us. It was really good. Service was great. They kept checking on us.
Highly recommend this place for dining if you happen to visit Idyllwild. It’s fantastic!
