We had an absolutely wonderful evening at De Belhamel, truly one of the best dining experiences we’ve had in Europe.
The service was incredible — warm, attentive, and genuinely kind. Our server was so sweet and welcoming, and made us feel completely taken care of from the moment we sat down.
The food was unforgettable. The ceviche was outstanding — incredibly fresh, perfectly balanced, bright, and full of flavor. Every bite was delicious. The entrecôte was to die for, cooked perfectly and bursting with flavor. One of those dishes you keep thinking about after the meal is over.
And don’t skip dessert — the pain perdu was the perfect ending. Comforting, indulgent, and just delicious.
On top of all that, the atmosphere was perfect. Cozy, elegant, and sitting right by the canal made the whole experience feel so special and very Amsterdam.
This is the kind of place that stays with you. We’ll definitely be back and would recommend it without hesitation.

We visited De Belham Restaurant in Amsterdam and had an excellent dining experience.
We chose the four-course daily menu, and overall the dishes were outstanding.
I usually don’t eat lamb, but it was so well cooked that it didn’t have the strong, heavy flavor you often find elsewhere — it was truly impressive.
The beef tartare was amazing. We also tried the pumpkin ravioli, which wasn’t very flavorful for our taste; however, our waiter Bram was extremely kind, friendly, and professional, and immediately replaced the dish for us.
The location is fantastic, right by the canal, creating a beautiful atmosphere.
Overall, a great experience with excellent food and outstanding service — special thanks to Bram for making us feel so welcome.

De Belhamel was highly recommended by neighbors and I had walked by the lovely outdoor tables more times than I can count. Now I highly recommend this Joordan gem. One recent Sunday, I took myself out to lunch and enjoyed the Chef’s 4-course menu. The food tastes outstanding and the presentation was lovely. Always awkward to dine alone, however the staff were very warm and attentive.

Nicest staff ❤️ I made a reservation to celebrate an anniversary and when we got there our table was on the top deck. I was sad about it but didn’t want to bother the lady that had seated us because she was very occupied. We ordered. After a few minutes, a couple left a table with the river view and she asked if we wanted to switch. Appreciated that very much.

Great place – it’s hard to find good food in Netherlands, but this is a gem. Scallops, smoked eel on brioche were just outstanding. We took fish of the day which was also quite good and Belhamel salad (this one was quite mediocre). Good wine helped to complete nice dining.

Celebrated Christmas Eve here with family and friends. Absolutely incredible experience. Lovely venue in a beautiful part of Amsterdam (especially at night!). The food was delicious as was the wine, and I am very grateful to the chef and staff for the delicious and special allergy-free dishes. Super helpful, polite and professional staff. Can’t recommend this place enough (get the steak!)!!

Absolute legend of Amsterdam, beautiful interiors and fabulous food. If you are in luck, at the entrance you will be hosted by Bram – and this will set up your evening on the best route. Ask him for wine pairing – he will have the best picks! Oysters, tuna, main course – everything is exceptional. I love that this was my selection for a special evening.

I brought my parents here for dinner and we absolutely loved it. The place has such a warm, elegant atmosphere. The Art Nouveau interior and the view over the canals make it feel really special. The food was fantastic, especially the meat dishes, the entrecote and the tournedos Rossini were outstanding. The only thing I wasn’t crazy about was the terrine, I usually prefer it a bit creamier, but everything else was just perfect. Such a beautiful spot for a relaxed and memorable dinner in Amsterdam!
