What a fantastic meal! Restaurant Constance is one of our favorite meals in Charlotte. Our server Kyle was attentive and very knowledgeable about every aspect of the menu, including great wine and mocktail recommendations. The menu features fresh ingredients and local produce. Each dish feels very intentional with attention to every aspect of your experience. Their ability to complement flavors and textures on a plate is exceptional. Persimmons are currently in season and were featured across the menu. Some of our highlights were the seared scallops with pureed sunchoke and a citrus chili ginger sauce, and the persimmon bread pudding with cinnamon cream and prickly pear puree. Even aside from some of the heavy hitters like the short rib and steamed mussels, the small details like the whipped butter on focaccia and flaky crepe crumbles sprinkled on top of the dulce de leche ice cream were equally delicious. In my opinion, Restaurant Constance is worth all the hype!

Wow! I was so (positively) surprised.
We had our reservation at 7.30 and got seated around 8 – but it was worth every minute to wait .. and got even better.
The service was so friendly and nice and apologized, even got free apps and a drink. And the food? I think this will be one of my top restaurants ins Charlotte. Cozy atmosphere, locally sourced ingredients, you can literally see into the kitchen, friendly server, feels like dining at a friend’s house.
We went on a Tuesday and they had their $65 special for a 3 course menu. And for that quality of food? And you might think oh the portions will be small .. no! You will take some home with you because you cannot finish it but you don’t wanna waste any bite of it.
I am so so happy with our experience even if we waited a bit – and I hate waiting (lol). I will 100% come back.
Highly highly recommend!! One of my top 3 in Charlotte.
(If you need to use the restroom you will be surprised with some pictures of the crew and their pets .. I mean – that’s a perfect end of a perfect dinner)

This is a fast favorite for an elevated dining experience. Food is always exquisite (my second time here). They have a succinct menu with a good variety. They periodically adjust the menu to the seasons to ensure their food quality and maintain their creativity. This would be a prime spot for a date night, birthday celebration or culinary adventure with a fellow foodie. I only took one photo this go round, but be assured the presentation was a part of the experience as well. This is a spot where you need a reservation since there is limited seating. Also, the 90 minute window is plenty of time to enjoy your meal.

The meal was absolutely outstanding and unlike anything I have tried before. There was an incredible variety of creative dishes, all coming together in a surprisingly smooth and exciting way. Each mouthful offered something new and enjoyable, turning the entire experience into a memorable journey of flavors.

The service was truly outstanding. They shared fascinating stories and explained everything in detail, not just the cooking process but also the local ingredients right in front of us. The food was absolutely amazing. I have never experienced so many unique dishes blended together so perfectly. Every bite felt like a new discovery.

When I go out to eat it is 90% about the quality of food. The other 10% is a mix of the experience. How friendly the staff is, the location, etc. Because of this, there is a lot of restaurants that disappoint. This one does not. Food was all great. I would be excited to return sometime and try some other things off the menu. I really appreciated the fact that they had non-alcoholic cocktail options for those of us that do not drink, but want something special to celebrate an occasion. We ordered many things, and everything met or exceeded expectations. (And my expectations were pretty high as this restaurant came highly rated through Reddit and other sources.
We had one of their raw appetizers, duck confit salad, the lamb, and the scallops. I was expecting a pan-fried lamb and this was more of a roast, However it was still really good. That was no fault of theirs. I just didn’t pay enough attention when I ordered it. And like I said I was happy with it anyways.
I’ll definitely come back when I’m in the area again. This restaurant was the perfect blend of fine dining mixed with semi-casual and a good vibe.
Keep up the good work!

Restraint Constance is a true 5/5 experience very worth the value. Phenomenal food that is very well thought through incorporating local flavors and inspirations. Every dish was an act on a stage the environment was well designed to meet the casually refined experience. This is the perfect spot for a get together or date.
Great food without the unnecessary melodrama of black tie fin dining. Restaurant constance is a must try

Went for a late Valentines day dinner last Wednesday. Showed up 30 minutes early, we were worried about checking in that early. Front of house was pleasant and polite. We were seated less then 10 minutes later. Offered a drink menu, we wanted wine. However me and the wife have no idea what to order. Their In-house wine specialist suggested a great Rose. Our server was prompt, thanked us for dinning with them. Informed us on Wednesday they have a 3 course special (starter, main, dessert) which was reasonably priced. Recomended the Momos and Fried Okra and pork belly salad. OMG One of the best salads I have ever had. Sounds heavy but it was not. Braised short Rib on Orzo and Cajun Shrimp and Grits for the mains. Both done beautifully. I cannot remember what the dessert was called but what a way to end. If you need a fusion of a chill environment and a higher end eating experience, this is your place. We will be back.

This is actually my third review after my third trip. For a quick recap, first trip was great… food was great. I was very happy to have found a quality restaurant in Charlotte that lived up to the hype. Ran was $250+. Really enjoyed it.
Second trip was a family outing for my sisters birthday. Tab was over $500. We did not have a good experience. Everyone was quite disappointed, and food was not cooked as it should have been. I left a fairly brutal, but honest review. The restaurant team actually reached out to me. After speaking with Sam we decided to go back for a third time. And I have to say I think it was better than the first time I went. We had both sashimi dishes. I have the venison and my partner had the short rib (which really is always fantastic). Both desserts (chai ice cream, and chocolate tart) was very very good. I’m not writing a better review to say that we forgot about the second trip. But I was really impressed with how the team made a concerted effort to fix a mistake. It seems as if maybe that second trip was just an off night. Just happened to be an important night for us. I’m really glad they reached out and really glad we gave them another chance. I also think that Sam is a good guy and they work really hard to provide a special experience at the restaurant. Will be returning. The winter menu is fire.

It was our first time dining here and we had an 8:30 reservation. Our table wasn’t ready until about 8:50 and they have no waiting area or even a bench so we had to stand by the door for 20 minutes. The hostess did ask if we wanted drinks while we stood there, so we ordered some. Once we were finally seated, it was the table next to the bathroom…The hostess mentioned as she seated us that each table has a 90 minute time limit but said that we didn’t have to worry about that – since we were the last reservation of the night it seemed. Kind of odd to mention the time limit considering our table was not ready until 20 minutes past our reservation time. Our server brought us free bluefin tuna nori wraps to make up for the wait. Not something we would usually order since we don’t prefer raw fish but it had good flavor. Nothing else was discounted on our bill. Got the Dear Rosemary mocktail that had good flavor but had big sprigs of rosemary that aren’t ideal to sip. Also ordered the Moonlight Mile mocktail which had a very faint flavor so would skip that one for $13 price tag. Ordered arancini to start which were pretty looking but the filling didn’t have much flavor. My scallop entree was good and probably my favorite bite. My husband’s short rib dish wasn’t very warm and it was a little too smoky and heavy. The blueberry shortcake biscuit had potential but the biscuit itself didn’t seem fresh and didn’t have much flavor. The chocolate miso tart was somewhat enjoyable. Spent $248 total. Wish we loved our experience for that price but unfortunately we will not be planning another visit.
