Had a lovely meal with the family, leaving all 5 of us happy and content. This is a touristy spot situated on the river, but nevertheless better than others we ate in. Hard working staff, generous and yummy portions, can’t ask for more. And that was on bastille day evening where standards are bound to slip.

My husband ordered an appetizer (duck meat with potato smash) and a main dish (lamb with french fries) and I ordered a salad as a main dish. His appetizer and main dish came at the same time. My salad never came, so I ate parts of his tasteless food. Due to the fact that we were hungry (arrived at 1pm but all restaurants open after 7pm) and the language barrier we didn’t complain. When I wanted to pay, they made a big fuss trying to charge me for the salad, that I never got. Our waiter even took the 2 plates from our table, so where was the salad served on? It was unbelievable. I can’t recommend the place at all, unless you want some drinks at the river.

We ordered a terin pot with duck as a starter that came as a main course, a shoulder of lamb that was tough and undercooked and a salad as a main course that never arrived. On settling the bill the waiter denied that he never brought the salad but when reminded that he only cleared two plates from the table the manager was then satisfied and removed it from the bill. Shame that a nice location is spoiled by incompetent service.

Very poor service. Nearly ten minutes to be welcomed and shown to a table. Another ten minutes for a menu and to be asked about drinks. Food delivered piecemeal and the requested mayonnaise never appeared so left with very dry fried fish gone cold and chewy. Lovely location and good looking venue let down badly by the lack of service.

Excellent place for lunch if out walking along the Allier from Vichy as we were yesterday. Friendly service and good food. Prices not too expensive in the current climate. Recommended.

Booked a table outside, been given one inside where it was steaming hot, the host didn’t care, we left and had lunch around the corner at The Cabanon where we had an amazing experience!
