Relaxed, informal 3-floor seafood and beer drinking eatery established in the 1950s.

Great seafood restaurant with very high-quality and fresh ingredients. I highly recommend the pink shrimp, black tiger prawns, and the local specialty Al Ajillo Especial. The goose barnacles were also good. The red shrimp was slightly salty for my taste, but overall the seafood was excellent and well worth a visit.

This restaurant truly lived up to its reputation. I was grateful for how professionally they prepared such fresh seafood. It was impressive that they even had a designated waiting area with number tickets for the huge crowd of customers. Despite being incredibly busy, the staff were very friendly and their service was flawless and professional. They even peeled the shrimp at the table and poured the shrimp juices back over the shrimp — the flavor was absolutely incredible. A remarkable dining experience.

Came here for dinner and we were met with excellent service and a generous plate of garlic bread. Ordered the clams in garlic, Al Ajillo Especial (must try!) and the oysters which were very fresh! also had a beer and port wine (we had the taylor’s 10 year port) as well as a flan for dessert. it was a very wholesome meal and just nice for 2, portions are not huge but still substantial. A very lovely dinner overall we really enjoyed ourselves!
Note that jt is recommended for you to make a reservation and there is a deposit of 25€ per pax but this amount offsets your total bill. We had no issues meeting our deposit amount and I assume you will be refunded anyways if the final bill comes under the deposit.

Made a reservation about 2 weeks in advance for a birthday dinner. This was probably the best seafood I’ve ever had. The crab was spectacular. 10/10 no notes. Service was great too!!

There’s a reason why this is considered one of the best seafood restaurant in Lisbon. All seafood was as fresh as you can find. The swimming crab was a pretty tasty cold dish you won’t find in many places. The garlic crab was hot, tasty and cooked just right, not too overcooked as it sometimes tend to be. The tiger prawn was decent, taste and texture somewhere between smaller prawns and lobsters. The garlic bread was nice too. And everything went really well with their on tap beer. The service was excellent; they made you feel at home with their informal attitude and humor. You’ll likely need a reservation beforehand to get in, and it needs a deposit. So prepare for a proper sit down meal, not something in-promptu.

If you want to experience shell fish at its finest, you will love this restaurant! This is a very traditional Portuguese shell fish establishment! Bread and shell fish followed by steak sandwich and then dessert! You will not find vegetables on the menu, just so you know. The bread is amazing–served hot with butter already on it. The oysters are so good! Best ever! The desserts are to die for! It’s a very popular restaurant, crowded, loud and fun! And…very fast service too!!

This may be the best seafood I’ve ever had after a month-long Europe trip! The grilled shrimp were incredibly flavourful and rich with buttery goodness. The oysters and raw seafood were fresh and beautifully prepared as well. The atmosphere was amazing, absolutely worth the wait!

The food was great, and the staff were very helpful, they explained how to eat the percebes (not the nicest-looking, but very good!) and how to break the crab’s legs.
It’s not a fancy place at all, but it’s perfect if you’re looking for a really good seafood restaurant.

The food was so so good. The atmosphere is very rushed though and their booking system is odd and rather stressful. The waiters were friendly and helpful and explained the various options. The COVID era QR style menus are irritating and unnecessary. What u found particularly poor was that when paying the bill the deposit was not included in the calculation for the tip? Why does the restaurant want to rip off their hard working staff?

This is the place for seafood in central Lisbon. Locals will tell you the quality isn’t what it used to be and that it’s very touristy – and true that with the internet every good spot it touristy, but realistically, compared to most seafood spots in the city, the quality is still very good.
It’s fast, loud, and all about seafood or a steak sandwich (prego). If that’s not your thing, this probably isn’t the place for you. But if it is, then go for it – it’s a classic Portuguese seafood experience.
