A must-do in Old Montreal. This cozy French restaurant had charm, warm ambiance, super delicious food, and an amazing staff! The staff were really friendly, fun, & knowledgeable about the menu & drink options. I tried Artic Char for the first time & now it’s my absolute new favourite. My husband had duck confit cooked to perfection. The dessert souffle was not only delicious but also a beautiful treat! I highly recommend this restaurant!

Restaurant Bonaparte is nice but unremarkable—nothing I ate was offensive, but nothing really impressed me.

Cocktail options are fun, and the cream of mushroom soup was very good. The plating on the entrees seemed a little tacky and unrefined. The lamb was well cooked and had good texture, though lacked flavor to me, and the chicken with brie similarly tasted like… chicken and brie, and nothing else. The duck was pretty good though in a very sweet sauce.

The desserts were standard, the chocolate mousse was a little disappointing as it didnt taste like they used real chocolate in it as opposed to powder, and was simply piped into a bowl.

The interior ambiance is very nice, and the service was good. While I think the food here is good, I believe there are better options around both for flavor and presentation of dishes

Wonderful experience catered by a professional staff, the menu although being very stable, has had a rework in how the plates are served. Some great discoveries with their new dishes, overall eating at this restaurant is a very pleasant experience. The setting is a quaint dining room in old Montreal, white aesthetics and quiet.

Attention to detail is unique and precise, if you want to treat yourself and your loved ones I recommend the restaurant Bonaparte! In the area you will find the old port of Montreal, a theatre, group activities, on top of being great, it has amazing things around it

We highly recommend duck confit, lamb shank, catch of the day (walleye) and rabbit confit. The terrine and wine was not super impressive but was still good. Service was good and they treated us very well for my birthday. This was the second visit for one of us.

My wife loved her multi-course meal—she thought both the food and wine pairings were wonderful. I, however, didn’t enjoy it as much. While the cuisine is clearly traditional French, I found the staff unhelpful when I asked for guidance on the menu, and the portions felt small for the price. The food was good but nothing stood out to me—except for the chocolate chip soufflé, which was truly excellent. Perhaps this is simply a matter of taste, but for me, it wasn’t worth the cost.

This was an incredible fine dining experience. The wine list is a novel. Choosing our meal was hard because everything sounded amazing. We tried the duck breast and beef bourguignon, and they were incredible delicious. Prepared perfectly. The sweet potato puree that came with the duck was very tasty (I wanted much more of that). The only thing that disappointed was the Brussel sprout that came on each of our plates. But dessert more than made up for it. Their dessert cocktails were out of this world and the souffles are really a work of art. Great place for a fancy date night.

Lovely restaurant with classic dishes prepared perfectly. Located just steps away from the theatre and Notre Dame Cathedral, Restaurant Bonaparte is the perfect dinner venue before your shows.

We had a quick dinner before AURA, a lovely projection mapping spectacle at the cathedral and were so glad we picked Restaurant Bonaparte. Service was incredibly quick and attentive. We’re looking forward to returning the next time we’re in Montreal.

A six star experience and my favorite dinner in Montreal during this trip .

Bonaparte hit all the marks with their exceptional service and attention to detail .

We made reservations weeks in advance and it is highly recommended to plan accordingly.

We were greeted and taken to our table which was a great location overlooking the outside . Quiet and able to hold a conversation without noise or disruptions making the ideal ambiance.

Bonaparte restaurant style and surroundings take you make to an old school elegance and charm . Dress for the occasion .

Our waiter was amazing . He explained the menus perfectly and made note of a gluten free guest also offering their own gf bread & butter . A must .

Cocktail menu and wine menus were extensive and detailed . We asked to try some local gin based cocktails . He did an amazing job proposing two cocktails that set the tone for the dinner .

Soup of the day was a potato and leek . Simple flavorful and filling . What else does one need ? Together with the delicious breads was a good starter .

Main dish was out of this world . Roasted duck breast cooked to perfection . Prepared with a maple syrup sauce and wild berries (including tart cranberries) which elevated the dish . Vegetables mix balanced the dish . In combination with the herbal cocktail this dish was extraordinarily special .

After dinner digestif menu included some nice choices to wrap up a delightful dinner

Many thanks to the entire staff that made our event so memorable . We will be back again next time we are in Montreal

A truly incredible dining experience. The staff are welcoming, and I appreciate the patience they with us had as my group stumbled through broken French! The meals were amazing, the drinks were amazing and the desserts were… also AMAZING. I’ll definitely be back for the tasting menu in the future. I will be recommending Restaurant Bonaparte to anyone and everyone I know that will be visiting Montreal! 🙂
