The only negative aspect was the payment issue. Even though the card terminal had a sticker indicating that they accepted American Express, they first said the machine wouldn’t process it and later mentioned it was an “internal policy.” I know that instruction comes from the manager, so I chose to pay with another card to avoid causing any issues for the waiter. I find it unreasonable to display the logo if they don’t actually want to accept Amex, clearly to avoid the commission.
Overall, I do recommend the place for its atmosphere, food, and service, but don’t go if you plan to pay with American Express, because they won’t accept it.
Took a friend for their first visit.
Is this place under nee awful management?
Waited an hour and a half for our food and all three orders were incorrect. Tried to get corrected but one of three that took care of us quickly rushed away and forgot to remedy or bring what we wanted.
We asked our burrito and chimchanga be smothered in green chili so received large soup size bowls of red and green chili for around $6.
A large group occupying an extended table almost the full length of the dining room received 95% of the staffs attention.
Band was fun.
Service was below average
Food was below average
And willingness to correct the food even after an hour plus wait was nil
Sadly probably our last time at this place, formerly a favorite of ours for many years.
Management needs to correct things quickly
No matter what you try on the menu, it’s always an A+. Oh and the desserts are the bomb! Some of my best afternoons were spent here.
We didn’t order any alcohol, just lemonade, water, and soda, so I expected the bill to be pretty reasonable, especially being in Mexico.
The appetizers were disappointing. The pico de gallo tasted like the bottled kind from the supermarket and didn’t seem fresh at all. The chips were really stale, which surprised me because I was told everything here is made fresh.
For our main dishes, the carne asada wasn’t cooked through. It was noticeably pink, mushy, and had almost no flavor. The portion was also very small for the price. The mole was honestly awful. I’ve had much better mole at Mexican restaurants in the U.S., even the more Americanized ones.
When the bill came, we were all shocked at how high it was considering we didn’t order alcohol, and the lemonade and waters were still overpriced.
Overall, I left really disappointed. I rarely give one-star reviews, but this just wasn’t worth the cost. I hope the restaurant takes feedback seriously and improves the food quality and pricing.
