Fondue from the birth place of the dish was a curious experience. Had much higher expectations but it was quite a let down. Not much flavour? Potato was bland af, cheese was bland, the bread..was bread? The tomato soup was bearable. For such a high price point, was a very disappointing experience. Our server was lovely tho, she made up for a lot of the loss on the food.

We really loved it. Delicious tiramisu, delicious ravioli, and on top of that, the waitress (the owner’s girlfriend, maybe?) was top-notch. Funny, ironic, beautiful, kind, and intelligent—she had a real spark, such a cool woman! We highly recommend it!

Quaint, romantic, alpine atmosphere. Our waiter was friendly and kind. I had the Rosti with Raclette cheese, egg, and bacon. It was the best thing I ate in my trip, and one of the best things I’ve ever had to eat in a long time.

The service and food were exceptional!
We had a small portion of Fondue and Raclette with beer and wine to drink. A warm, rustic, and intimate experience that neither of us will ever forget!

The service was decent overall, but it felt pretty tacky when they asked us to tip the kitchen staff at the end. We had the cheese fondue and the egg & bacon rösti — the fondue was just okay, but the rösti was really delicious. That said, the rest of the menu is ridiculously overpriced, even by Swiss standards. Portions are small, and the quality doesn’t match the high prices. For example, charging 48 CHF for a plate of veal schnitzel is just insane, and even the water cost 8 CHF, which is absurd. While the rösti was great, I wouldn’t recommend this place if you’re looking for a good experience with traditional Swiss food.

Wonderful and relaxing lunch in an inviting and warm atmosphere. Service was excellent (remember in Europe – they will not bug you and keep asking if everything is alright unless you get their attention). The food was good and well prepared. I have recommended this place to my friends.

The “waiter”, who later told us he was the owner was arrogant, rude, and treated his customers like irritants rather than income. We asked for tap water and were refused this so had to buy a Nestle product instead, service was generally slow, he was rude to the 4 Americans next to us, and then ignored a solo diner when she tried to take a seat as he sorted a table of 6. The food (we had the schnitzel and the fondue) was okay so not complaining about the kitchen, but the host shouldn’t be in hospitality with rudeness and lack of attention to the customer experience. I know Luzerne is a tourist magnet and this fellow seems to be there only to milk that. When we called him on his behaviour, he became aggressive and dismissive. Really poor response to customer feedback. Despite the food being okay, I’d advise avoiding this place and finding somewhere with better manners.

This is such a charming restaurant. The server was very welcoming and kind. We came for last min fondue and Rosti before we leave Switzerland and they didn’t disappoint. Very good food. Cute swiss decoration.

I went with my mother yesterday and we shared a pasta plate. Although the food was ok (nothing special for how expensive it is), we didn’t like how we were treated. We felt like sharing a plate wasn’t accepted by the restaurant. When she brought the drink the waiter asked again if we were sharing in a disrespectful way. We felt discriminated. I don’t recommend this place because of the service. Plus, they charged us for sharing $6 euros…
