I’ve walked by this place so many times & happy I finally got a chance to go! We went for lunch during restaurant week, so it was a limited menu but great options. All of the food was legit heavenly & I would love to come back for dinner. Restaurant itself it super cute & cozy. Only thing was service was quite slow & we were there for nearly 2 hours just because of how long the food took. But will def be back!

Tried booking on Resy but for some reason it didn’t show up on the restaurants end. No matter because they kindly took us straight back to some seats! It was very dark but the food tasted great. Milk Buns were a huge hit and I personally loved the schnitzel (although i don’t think a schnitzel should taste that sweet). Waiters and hosts were very helpful and kind.

I came here for some bites with my friend, and had such a wonderful experience. The food was delicious and GM/Somm Ringley, and bartender Hunter were a delight. Everyone was awesome and the restaurant is beautiful. I will definitely be coming back! The pirogies, tartare, and burger are not to be missed (burger not pictured)

Recently visited Restaurant Aleksandar on Wednesday for their last SIPS. It was so good, we stayed longer to order off of the dinner menu. I don’t even know where to begin, I love this place so much. Right as you walk in, you’re immediately transported into a romantic, warm, cozy, and intimate space. Staff is friendly, helpful, and you don’t feel like they’re overbearing. Always there when you need, but will happily give you space as you dine. The ambience is just perfect for quiet conversation and meeting with friends. Cocktails….amazing! The menu is very thoughtful and as you move through it you can really start to see what inspires the chef and the story behind the restaurant. Not to mention the beautiful artwork lining the walls. Found out that the owner’s mother is the artist, so cool!! I could go on and on but my top favorite dishes include the Scallops, (the plating is gorgeous), Beef Tartare, Short Rib Pasta, and Octopus. Definitely try their dessert! And yes…of course I’m going back.

Went on Saturday and was shocked this place wasn’t filled to the brim with people. The food, amazing! The service, unbelievable! The chicken schnitzel, out of this world! A big thank you to our server Hunter, the best!

I have never written a restaurant review before, but my experience here was so bad that I feel the need to warn others. I went for dinner during restaurant week.
The first course (I had the beet salad and my partner had the butternut squash soup) was okay. The second course (stuffed cabbage and chicken schnitzel) took a very long time to come out and was fine at best.
We then waited more than 45 minutes for our dessert. Our waiter came to apologize for the delay, but it took at least another 15 minutes after that to get our dishes. The apricot dumpling was undercooked and barely edible. The chocolate ganache was nowhere near as good as would be expected.
The 20% gratuity that was added in advance was presumptuous and almost seemed like they were prematurely worried about what customers would tip after the disastrous service.
I can see that this has been an issue that many others have noted over the past few months/years. Though it seems that management responds to some reviews and insists that they take feedback seriously, I can confidently say that they have not learned from all of the bad reviews in the past. If I could give this 0 stars, I would. I will never return.

Important context: we came on Valentines Day, so maybe it’s better other days. That said, this was probably the worst dining experience I’ve had in Philadelphia. We had a reservation at 8:30, they had us stand in the entryway because they could seat us until 8:45. Initially things were ok. They ran out of oysters which was the most expensive/ interesting of the apps, so that was not available and it was a pre fixe menu. We instead got squash soup and beet salad, both us which came out in a fairly timeline manner and were passably good though not anything special. However we didn’t get our main courses until 1.5 hours after we arrived (even though we ordered all courses minutes after we arrived). They also forgot to serve us a steak tartare which was supposed to come in between, and we had to specifically request it when they brought our mains, at which time they took back our mains without asking (that we had been waiting 1.5 hours for) to wait for longer to bring the tartare. The mains were not good. The gnocchi had a really unpleasant texture (very gluey) and the duck my husband had he described as soggy and poorly seasoned. After the mains, we waited a full 50 minutes for them to bring our dessert, which was mediocre. In all, it took more than 2.5 hours to eat here, cost $320, and the waitress checked on us exactly once after taking our order during the whole time, and the gratuity of 20% was mandatory. I used to be a waitress and always tip generously, but I didn’t appreciate how we were made to tip 20% when the service was so, so bad. They were clearly understaffed, but also seemed to be purposefully ignoring us.

Always a highlight when we’re in Philly! Restaurant Aleksandar impresses us every time with fantastic food and warm, friendly service. The burger with the garlic mayo sauce is my absolute favorite, but all the other dishes are excellent as well. The rotating desserts – especially the cheesecake and carrot cake – are simply amazing. The staff is incredibly attentive and welcoming. We’ll definitely keep coming back!
Thank you! Restaurant Aleksandar

We went twice in our weekend trip. First night for drinks and the next night for dinner. It was delicious. We loved all the food especially the burger which was only on the happy hour menu but they were gracious enough to make it for us for dinner. Highly recommend. It was mouthwatering

Came here twice, once for brunch and once for Restaurant Week. Although brunch was OK, the restaurant week visit IMPRESSED me. The food was absolutely amazing and really showcased the chef’s talents. Highly recommend!
