Food was nice but what made my night was our Waitress Fernanda, she was so welcoming and her service is amazing… she was only one that out of the waitresses that actually looks happy doing her job so professionally.. so lovely she is and always smiling…. and I will say Tom the waiter was very good and helped out too..

The food was delicious and the portions very generous as well as beautifully presented.
The children menu is very well priced and lovely, but above all of this, the waitress was the highlight of the evening. Wonderfully welcoming without being too much. Just perfect! Thank you for making our evening so special and lovely.

The food was ok, starter main and desert was nice but this hotel is most certainly not 5 star. What made the experience was Fernanda the waitress who was excellent. She did not stop catering for our table and provided a first class service. Fernanda’s attention to detail was oustanding. I think Fernanda needs to be headhunted and be recruited in a decent hotel in London. Thank you.

We have just had a wonderful meal at the queens. Our waiter, Joao, he was excelent. Charming, helpful and his advice about the cheese and portwas spot on. We had a couple of drinks in the bar and the gent that served us knew what he was doing. The best oldfashianed ever. Thank you to all.

Afternoon Tea at the Queens was delicious. Our server, Joao, could not have been more attentive or personable. We were made to feel very welcome and he was super helpful. We did not feel rushed and had a wonderful afternoon. Our dietary preferences were met and booking was so easy. Would recommend!

The atmosphere entering restaurant 1865 through the lobby was lovely and classic. A wonderful venue to the restaurant. All the staff were lovely throughout our time at the restaurant.
We dined in on a Sunday afternoon – taking advantage of the Sunday menu featuring numerous roast dinner meat options blended with the a la carte menu with lots of great options available.
Our order consisted of the sirloin roast, along with a the starter of the scallops with masala. The scallops were cooked very well – tender and juicy. However the pairing with masala was peculiar.
The roast dinner was fantastic. Well executed and presented tender, juicy sirloin cut; accompanied with a medley of roasted vegetables. I thoroughly enjoyed the plate – with a special mention of the huge Yorkshire puddings!
Overall, a great experience and would recommend those in Portsmouth/Southsea to visit this restaurant.

We had a fantastic anniversary meal here tonight. The food was delicious and our server Fernanda was so attentive to us all night and was excellent. It is great value for money and felt like a fine dining experience comparable to anywhere in London. We would not hesitate to return.
