We came for dinner, cocktails, and the jazz music. We have enjoyed their sister restaurant Prohibition and wanted to give this a try. We came without reservations and so we sat in the bar area after a 10 minute wait. It was hard to see the stage from here and to enjoy the music. I recommend reservations as most all of the tables were reserved. The vibe is more low-key than Prohibition and not as unique or fun. The cocktails were all very good and the food was as well. I found the chicken confit dry, but overall good. Gluten free options were limited and not all allergens were labeled on the menu. For example the souffle came with a walnut crust and walnuts on the side, but the menu didn’t list them at all on the description. This makes it difficult to independently navigate the menu. The prices were consistently higher than other top bars in the area reducing the overall value.

We had a great time at Repeal. Brock, our waiter, was amazing and super knowledgeable. The food was fantastic. They have a robust bourbon list too. We thought the jazz might be too overpowering so we wouldn’t be able to talk, but it was the perfect atmosphere to enjoy the music while also having conversations.

My wife and I went there for dinner last night and it was absolutely amazing!!!
Every single person on the staff was attentive, friendly, and thorough. Our server Cassie is the absolute best. If you go there, please ask for her.
Extraordinary list of whiskey, craft cocktails, beer and wine. The food is some of the best that we have had in Utah since we moved here 3 years ago. This hidden gem is a must try for anyone that loves live music, great food, and excellent cocktails. We will be back many times in the future.

Had a fabulous Valentine’s Day dinner with my husband. The food was so good! We opted for the chef’s preplanned wine pairing dinner. Six pours of various wines matching each course, each wine was 2 oz, so we did not get too drunk. Jazz band provided a lovely atmosphere. Beautiful decor. But the food! It was worth the drive downtown in heavy Saturday evening traffic. We’ll be back!

I want to start by seriously emphasizing the service here. The staff was absolutely amazing and again I want to say it louder THEY WERE AMAZING. So freaking nice and their presence was so amazing you couldn’t improve any better. Now we can get to the cocktails. Those were very very good. Some of them had a bit of a stronger flavor profile that some wouldn’t like but that’s just the way of cocktails. The presentation was great and flavor delivery was good. Now the tasting menu was where it’s at. If you don’t get that you’re missing out on a huge experience the flavor profiles and longevity of the flavors are SSS tier and they were perfectly set up back to back and it was amazing. The jazz volume was exactly what you want it to be at and the floor set up is wonderful and unique. I will be back here again and I promise you it’s worth spending every penny you have here if you love food.

I really enjoyed those experience at repeal. We were in Park city for skiing and we found out that the food in Park city is really bad so we’re surprised to find out that this restaurant had really good options and they reminded us of restaurants and bars in DC. I told the bartender I had a really bad experience at a different restaurant the night before. He made me a really good drink, and I was very satisfied. Everything was very creative and also there was a live pianist playing. All in all I would definitely come back .

Repeal is a jazz and whiskey spot that feels like a hidden little escape. We went early in the evening around 5:00 pm to enjoy dinner and drinks, with plans to come back again to catch the live music on another visit.
The staff was amazing from the moment we walked in to when we left. Attentive is the best word to describe the entire experience. The service, the kitchen, the execution of every dish. Everything felt intentional. From preparation to ingredient quality to presentation and taste, there was a real level of care behind every plate.
Our waiter Brock was truly the star of the night. He recommended an incredible whiskey for my fiancé’s old fashioned, which he said was “one of the best old fashioneds he’s ever had.” Brock walked us through the menu, suggested pacing for the dishes, and made the whole experience feel thoughtful and effortless.
We ordered several small plates and one entrée. The seared ahi tuna was the standout of the night. The texture, flavor, and temperature were literally perfect. Another favorite was the Honey Gem lettuce. The dressing paired with the blackberries was amazing (it was so good we forgot to grab a pic before we finished it off). The lamb chop is sous vide, so it takes a little time, under 20 minutes, and it was absolutely worth the wait. Everything was timed beautifully so each plate came out one at a time.
We also had the porcini arancini, which was incredibly well prepared with such a satisfying texture. The chicken leg confit was another highlight. So tender, and the flavor combinations on the plate were spot on.
I also have to mention the interior. Walking downstairs gave me flashbacks of the old Bourbon House, but that quickly shifted into a luxe lounge vibe rather than a bar. The space feels elevated and intentional. It honestly felt like being in a stylish hotel bar in New York. Beautifully designed and really well done.
I would highly recommend Repeal for a date night or for impressing out of town guests. The food, the staff, the ambiance. All excellent.
We will absolutely be back for more tuna and hopefully some jazz. I also need to try the espresso martini. It looked amazing, and yes, they are using a real espresso machine for anyone who is serious about their espresso martinis.
What we ordered:
Seared Ahi Tuna
Porcini Arancini
Honey Gem Lettuce
Lamb Chop
Chicken Leg Confit
Drink:
Dog Point Sauvignon Blanc
Old Fashioned
