We have been tryin more and more to try thr local eating spots in suffolk and rennees has been on our list for a while. So we rried them a couple weeks ago. We went in the middle of the day around 3pm easy parking not too busy at the time. we were greetin when we came in amd told we can sit where we wanted. Customer service was good our waiter was very attentive to our needs. place is pretty cool inside good size bar and a good amount of seating for diners. We ordered a few things to try. philly eggrolls, catfish bites, the hollywood crab dip, parmesean topped salmon, and a chicken strip meal (to go). The salmon and crab dip, and the side sweet potaties, mac&cheese, greens, cabbage, and cornbread were on point. i was kind of dissapointed in the catfish bites and the philly eggrolls. the bites reminded be of that swai fish some restaurants use, i knows it apart of the catfish family but damn its not what im expecting i read catfish bites. The Eggrolls tasted more like ground sausage than steak my wife felt the same. but other than that we enjoyed ourselves. and will return.

The food is delicious, especially the waffle & chicken, however the portions for the price is to small. There is only 2 servers for the whole place and we had to wait 2 hrs to get our food at the table. The music is also way too loud and you can barely hear the person next to you.

Okay so I actually do like this place. We have been one time in the past and the food was so freaking amazing. We came last night and it was not the same experience. As soon as we sat down the waitress told us they could only take cash because the Internet was down, which I totally appreciated the transparency! I ordered the herb chicken, cabbage and yams. The chicken was fire, it was juicy and flavorful! The cabbage was just okay. My issue was the yams. They were cold and greasy. I asked the waitress to warm them up and she did….when they where brought back out to me they where so hot that I burnt the absolute hell out of my mouth, like i literally choked on my cornbread because the yams was so hot. They just threw the entire container into the microwave. My boyfriend got the Alfredo and again, it was good! But it was greasy. The crab dip…… 10/10!!! No question and the chips they make for it….YEAH, they like that. The service was really slow, but it was just one woman in there. I think it would have been better if it wasn’t just her but you would ask her for one thing and then she would walk away rather than checking with the whole table. But she was sweet! They got the internet. Back working while we where there and this was my biggest issue. When the internet came back on I guess so didn’t music…the man turned the music up so loud at 8PM, the entire table was looking crazy because we literally couldn’t even talk to each other it was SO LOUD. We couldn’t get out of there fast enough because the waitress was busy making drinks at the bar. At least the music selection was good!

My husband and I went to Renee’s for the first time for lunch and we loved everything about it. The atmosphere was nice; food was excellent; music was great; and Rich our host made the experience nice for our first visit. We will definitely be back to experience the live DJ and food in the evening!

Karla was on point to make sure everything came out quickly and perfectly. The atmosphere is very relaxing with 90s R&B music. I look forward to dining here again!

I had been contemplating visiting Rennee’s for quite some time. On a rainy Tuesday, I finally pressed my way to this much talked-about restaurant to see what all of the hype was all about.
Upon my arrival into the restaurant, I was pleasantly pleased by the warm and inviting atmosphere of the dining establishment. The colors were striking and pleasing to the eye.
I was purely amazed, as I had envisioned a small hole in the wall. Boy, was I wrong. Rennee’s is a beautiful esthetically pleasing restaurant with plenty of room, a nice bar, adequate seating, a Deejay booth, no-smoking atmosphere, and the server was warm and cordial.
After navigating the menu of delicious delectables, I finally decided to order the chicken bites with French fries, and the Taco Tuesday lunch special, consisting of three turkey tacos. The wait time wasn’t very long, as all food items are cooked to order.
When my food arrived, I opened the lid of my carryout box; the chicken bites were fried and seasoned perfectly, and the French fries are very good and tasty. They were nice and hot.
You owe it to yourself to dine at Rennee’s Restaurant Lounge on Washington Street in downtown Suffolk, VA.
You won’t be disappointed!

Take this review how you will and judge based on the merits of a biased review before deciding whether or not to order from here. Discretionary statement aside, the service was okay, however, the food wasn’t really that flavorful. During my course of waiting for the meal, I was told by an employee that I’d be getting 15% off for the wait, but it was not honoured. Despite this, the same team member/employee or manager (whichever may apply), held a conversation with other team members and did not make appropriate change for the remainder that I gave as a tip. (I believe it may have been above 40 dollars); I usually tip to support someone’s personal endeavours despite working at a business, as I understand how emotionally inept/unfair customer attitudes can be. However, there’s not really a feasible excuse to decide (whether she forgot, I will never know), not to balance servicing with integrity and relaying information between employees reliably and responsibly. My decision is that until that gets better, I may not rescind my choice not to dine-in again at Rennee’s.

Yum for real y’all! 1st visit to Renee’s as recommended by the staff of Autumn Care! No disappointments here. Service was super friendly and well versed in the options and prep of the meals.
We enjoyed the Spicy Honey Garlic Pork Chops — that sauce is Sooo good! Side of some of the best String Beans in town & good Yams too.
Also, the Parmesean Crusted Salmon – 5oz of baked goodness.
And lastly, the best chopped liver, gravy & rice in town. Tender & full of flavor with Mac & cheese!!
And for down home southerners – there were chitterlings being served today!!!

We stopped by Rennee’s yesterday on our way back from North Carolina, and let me tell you — don’t sleep on Rennee’s! You’ll regret it if you do!
The food was perfectly seasoned and full of flavor. I had the grilled pork chops — tender, juicy, and absolutely delicious. My family tried both the fried and grilled catfish, and every bite was a hit. The vegetables were fresh and well-prepared — we honestly loved everything we ordered.
Rennee and TJ were the perfect hosts, and the waitresses made sure we had everything we needed. The classic oldies playing in the background set the perfect vibe for a beautiful first-time experience. So glad we stopped

Renee and Alize was very very friendly and accommodating the service was amazing!!!? Now let’s get to why y’all reading this lol THE FOOD!!! Mrs. Renee or as imma start calling her Auntie Renee lol cooks the food and when I tell as the old folks say she put her foot in that food baby!!! The liver and onions with white rice was fantastic the spicy garlic pork chops was amazing the sides like cabbage, potato salad, Mac and cheese hell all the sides was amazing!! The drinks was in the money and the desserts lawd have mercy the banana pudding and the peach cobbler was to die for!! Overall go to this place when you in Suffolk you won’t be disappointed and I’m coming from New York and I will definitely be back again when I come back to Virginia.
