I happened upon this place by googling breakfast restaurants in Gulfport, what an amazing gem! The meticulous appearance of this fabulous coffee shop and restaurant was beautiful with works of original art gracing the walls. I had the BB King and lavender coffee, I can’t say enough good about it. The coffee was perfection, with just the right amount of lavender sauce to make it taste like spring in your mouth! The bread pudding of the bb king was hands down the best bread pudding I have ever had in all of my travels, and it was served the crisp firm bacon that added that delicious salty to the perfectly sweet. I will definitely go out if my way to come back! I bought a cold brew to go, just for the great blue bottle with a scripture verse on it. The prices are a little high but #1 you are paying for quality #2 great ingredients are not cheap #3 it is funding an outreach and people are priceless! So invest in an excellent cup of coffee and an amazing breakfast….you must go!

Wow!!! We were traveling through town and we were looking for a unique delicious local restaurant and we found it. This was our favorite restaurant on the Southern coast line. My son had chocolate waffles and gourmet hot chocolate and I had an exquisite asparagus egg dish with siphon coffee.

We would definitely stop here again.

However, a couple FYIs: this is a “Christian” restaurant and the food is quite pricey. I think the food was worth the value, but due to the expense we would not go there frequently if we lived closer.

Me and my wife have been here twice and it’s been amazing both times. It’s great to have a place that serves gourmet coffee. The food is also very very good. It is pricy but you get what you pay for. The service is phenomenal, they are always checking in with you and even the chef comes out to ask how your meal was. The atmosphere is great, small and quaint. I would recommend and will definitely be back again.

Food was excellent as was the service. We ordered the eggs and the banana foster waffles. The eggs were perfectly cooked and beautifully presented. The waffles were delicious (a bit too sweet for my tastes) and served with great caramel ice cream. The coffee and tea was some of the best I’ve ever had. I would give 5 stars, but for the prices, to say they are outrageous is an understatement, and that is from someone who lived in New York City. The decor was beautiful and the place was spotless, however I did find the Bible quotes to be a bit much.

The coffee is excellent! My husband and I really enjoyed our breakfast of Bananas Foster Waffles and the Renee Scramble. Atmosphere is pleasant as well. I would recommend this venue to people who value quality over convenience. The wait was lengthy, but in the end it was worth every minute.

My favorite was the V60 bourbon blues coffee and “les oefs”. Very delicious. My fiance and I love to come here because its a pleasant environment and the staff is very kind. They publicly express their values willingly and unashamed. I love that. I read all the negative reviews and based on what they all said, they just couldn’t appreciate the time it took to make an amazing meal or coffee. If you don’t have a spare 2 hours to spend enjoying a good meal and coffee dont come here. They take pride and work hard at making your experience here a great one. The wait was never a problem for us. Keep up the good work.

If you are looking for an authentic amazing atmosphere, people & most of all food & coffee!?! There is ABSOLUTELY no competition over Renee’s!!! 100% they are truly a piece of French heaven in our little gulf coast Mississippi home. They are the epitome of you get what you pay for!! There is nothing better than taking alittle bit of time for yourself & or along with family & friends & bring them to this amazing little haven. The coffee is the most divine on the coast! Hands down!! There is nothing better than a nice calm beautiful Saturday (any day really! But for me Saturday) coming in sitting down relaxing & being served in such an elegant manner & receiving the type of quality food & drink that you will receive here!! Absolutely wowed by this place! You haven’t lived if you haven’t had coffee & or tea & ANY of the food items here! Truly!! Very impressed

Smooth, fresh, aromatic coffee. Lovely, quiet authentically friendly. I only chose to experience coffee- wonderful! – but now that I have, I’m compelled to return and just spend the $30 for coffee and Bananas Foster because…it’s vacation! Why not? I want to support Renee’s vision of excellence for her guests, and her Savior.

I came in to get some coffee since I’ve become a coffee snob of sorts. Who knew the research is extremely extensive? But it is and you have to know where those beans came from, how it’s brewed, ingredients in your syrup, and so on. I don’t like fake ingredients. I like the interior of this place but going in didn’t feel welcome. No big welcome as customers came in. Instead, it was all hush hush with whispers as if everyone was afraid to talk. A man behind the counter quietly welcomed us but we couldn’t exactly hear what he said. My friend and I felt like we had to whisper too. As we viewed the menu on the tablet, we were shocked at the prices. Using the word “artisan” is a fancy way of saying companies created a menu themselves and they take the time to make food and drinks perfectly. Problem is, it took them way too long to make two simple coffees. Artisan foods is fine but taking 20 minutes is too long. I paid $26 for two small siphoned coffees to go. Ridiculous. Give people a big welcome as they get at other places in the South, add more healthy ingredients as options and lower those prices. $8 a coffee is fine if that’s what you’re doing but $26??? No. Absolutely not unless you want to blow money and you’re in town visiting on a vacation. They increase the prices according to how the coffee is made. Sure but I can get a pour over for a nice price and those who don’t understand brewing styles, they’re not going to mind a drip coffee at $2.50-3. This coffee’s flavor isn’t worth the price. It’s nothing to write home about. The location is also a bit uninviting too. The reason being that it’s sort of hidden on Courthouse and no place to sit outside. No music playing inside. Just too quiet and not welcoming.

Furthermore, I just noticed the owner walks up to customers if they write a review in the cafe. That’s extremely uncomfortable and doesn’t make one want to return. If the prices are this high and people don’t mind that part but are then confronted and made to feel uncomfortable, they’re losing customers. Business owners should be considering reviews made, tell customers they’re sorry and welcome them back. You don’t confront people then throw out Bible verses. I’m a Christian as well. While I enjoyed the shirts and the Christianity in the shop, it’s too much to confront people with a long winded response then close with Christian quotes. If your reviews remain to stay high for wealthier people, leave it at that and don’t change but don’t confront people who give honest reviews that you believe is a personal attack and isn’t. It’s only a personal attack if the customer has personal issues with you to begin with. A customer walked in and made a review. That’s that. They also copy and paste responses because while they like to take half an hour to produce coffee, they can’t personally respond to customers. I won’t be returning either.

I was invited to check this place out. I did and had a wonderful experience. My partner and our two boys had brunch on Friday and had an amazing visit. The coffee was the best I ever had, the food to die for and my boys loved the chocolate waffles. We highly recommend Renee’s to everyone. We enjoyed the emtire experience. Sharon, Greg, and Amber were so joy filled and inspirational. We will definately visit again. Kevin & Jim
